I thought it was a Hot Wheels ramp at first but see it now
I thought it was the Corgi Rockets jump, but that should have a piece of tissue paper across the hoop.

Why would you ask someone for their copy of a movie and not be disappointed if they refused? confused

They don't have to be disappointed, just let down. By not handing over the movie they are let down by definition.

Surely the asker can only be "let down" if there were a promise (implied or otherwise) that Mr. Astley *would* "give you up" should you ask for it. Since he has stated quite clearly, many times, that he is "never gonna give you up" then why would you ask for it? How can you be "let down" if you already know the answer to the question? If you already know that he is "never gonna give you up" then he would actually be NOT letting you down by his refusal.

confused

Sounds more like setting yourself up for a fall rather than a paradox.

Perhaps the paradox recognises the folly of youth... Mr Astley was in his 20s when he recorded this pop classic.

as we age, nevers become maybes, and quite often... FFS go on thens.

I for one was never going to turn into my father... Yet here I sit, somewhat disappointed in the physical and cognitive resemblance.

If a celebrity refuses a reasonable request from a stranger like borrowing a Pixar movie dvd that they had nothing to do with, or cosigning a mortgage, they are letting them down.
