Yet more frivolous purchases, stuff you don't need...

2 years ago I bought myself a stupidly expensive Miele cylinder vacuum cleaner. I knew when it came I'd probably made a mistake, it was heavy, hard work to lift on stairs and sucked the carpet so hard it was almost impossible to push. Then my lad bought a Shark.
Talk about vacuum envy.
Anyway, Currys had a rather good sale on and with a discount code as well I got the Shark for £179.99. The difference is huge for me. I now have the most expensive car hoover in the world for the garage![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
That Miele will be a superb hoover, and infinitely better than the Shark. The Miele is a machine! The Shark is a disposable appliance.Talk about vacuum envy.

I got the Miele too and was devastated. Couldn't push it round the carpet, even on a low setting.
Turns out I needed to buy a Turbo head, as the Universal head (included) isn't good on carpets. This was frustrating to say the least. After spending a fair bit on a new hoover, you don't expect to have to shell out another £70 on a part to make it work properly.
However, once I got the Turbo Head it's the best I've ever owned.
Like with everything, Miele is built to last a lifetime and is top quality.

I went to an antique store today to look at furniture and saw a magnificent mounted stag head for sale. This one was waaaay too expensive for me but since I've got back I've been looking at them online. I think one would perfectly finish off the study/man cave in my new house but the parents think I'm mad and my girlfriend is freaked out by the idea.
Someone talk me into/out of it please?

That'd be great with glowing eyes. Someone talk me into/out of it please?

However, a camp bobcat would be optimal.

Thank you for the inspiration, I think I'll be saving strong boxes and building one of these with the kids:

For a very similar price, I'm tempted by the Bosch version...

Recently bought this one, as I was fed up visiting my parents and not having access to a decent screwdriver to fix the little niggles that happen around homes that don't have someone looking after them. A little smaller than I thought, but perfect to carry around in the car/pocket, and good enough to resolve several issues already, including fixing the back door, sorting the brakes on a wheelchair and tightening a table... and that was just in the first weekend.https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0071IK9CI/

Glad to see the addiction spread, though.
Love the black Turbo!
Love all of them, let's be honest.

Marshall beer fridge
Ooh where did you get that?Although it's nicely finished - well made cabinet, etched shelves, reversible door - I'm not sure the working part is top quality - it's noisy like an old fridge and the light never worked. That being said I bought a £200 one from Amazon which was absolute rubbish, and when I looked they were all the same with different names and prices, so I'm glad I paid extra and got this.
If you like that style, there's a range of Marshall Bluetooth speakers. I bought the Kilburn, thinking I'd need portable, as I did with previous BT speakers, but it's loud enough and quite heavy, so knowing that I'd have preferred the Stanmore. It's good enough for kitchen/diner use though. It sounds like speakers/hi-fi did before it was digital.
