Increased toast consumption whilst stuck at home meant a butter knife was required. £20 quid and a couple of days later, it arrived. It’s too nice to use though.

That's lovely, I bet it handles beautifully. I do like a bit of quality.
That is quintessential what this thread is about, an overpriced butter knife too good to use, I tip my hat to you sir.

Me

A ryobi air compressor for blowing up tyres.......which I can't remember the last time I did, but it uses the same 1+ battery all my other stuff does.

A new bluetooth speaker for my laptop, I already have 3 UE Booms

A new gaming headset, i only game with my son who sits in the same room.

And some camping gear....currently camping in the garden so wont be used till probably summer....or next year.

Agreed, that is £20 very well spent.

Not a bad idea. Can I land an RC plane on my drive?
Yes, but don't try to take off from a treadmill.

This thread is bad for the wallet!! I’m now looking at drones for flying around the private woodland I have access to!

Yes, I know I need a CAA license to fly the damn thing but I’m not doing much so I have time to do it.

Can anyone suggest one that’s under £200, and has a decent video cam onboard or can carry a GoPro?

I too was hovering (pardon the pun) over the buy button on a drone yesterday. I figured I would have more time at the mo to learn how to fly it but then also realised there was probably nowhere I could fly it (city centre dweller) whilst under lockdown.

All my research led me back to the DJI Mavic mini. If you’re spending £200, surely a man maths uplift to £369 is plausible?

The DJI ones are great. I’ve got the original Mavic, but I have the same problem with nowhere to use it.

I live in the suburbs. Most of the parks have banned drones, and I always feel I’m being viewed with suspicion if I use it in the smaller open spaces where it is allowed.

I use it on occasional UK holidays to the countryside, but 2-3 short flights a year for a drone that cost £1k certainly counts as frivolous for me!

Exactly as I foresee my own usage. And like my numerous gopros, it’ll be in the drawer unused and when I do have anything to capture, it’ll be at home or I’ll film it and then never get around to the video editing to do anything with it.

yes Did you watch ‘Inside the Factory’ this week? Very interesting.
Yup,
That’s why I ended up buying one wink
That programme (not the Le Creuset one) tipped me over the edge and made me buy a Brompton! I love a good factory!

Can you buy handles for these? I dropped my lid just yesterday and snapped a piece off of the handle.

Yes. I got one from ebay but they can be had from LeC shops if you have one local to you.

I know they are expensive but they last for years, I bought 3 in 1980 and they still do a great job and at least one is used every day.

I've spent the afternoon tidying the garage and shredding papers going back to 2001.

Found my less than splendid school reports and school photos. What made me really chuffed was in the 2003 box:

An unread copy of Viz Izzue 99 and Fast Car June 2003!

Pics?

I'm looking to plumb in the jet washer (basic Karcher 3) and perhaps a filtered hose for rinsing, and a hot water heater for similar reasons (combo of lockdown boredom and car / dog washing)

It was perfectly in the spirit of the thread, I thought. An entirely frivolous full stop.

I know this is the frivolous thread, but the aldi cast iron cookware is really really good.
I don't own any Le Crueset to compare to, but the couple of bits I have are marvellous.
