Little new link regarding the previous post

I particularly like the Councils statement that the 'travellers' are not affecting the park and ride but the Police are stating they are....

I certainly wouldn't leave my car there all day with them present !
A month or so, SpeckledJimetta calls at 1730 on a Friday evening to say she's ready to leave work, but her car won't start.

"OK, I think I know what it is, I'll be with you in 45 minutes."

"There's another thing"

"What's that?"

"'keys broke into work's car park this afternoon. There's more of them scuttling-in as we speak. If you can't get the car started, it'll be here all weekend..."

That certainly focussed the mind and gave me plenty to consider on the way over! The mess they'd made in a few hours was just ridiculous. Thankfully, the car started and we got the hell out of Dodge. They had their 10 year old kids break the gate on the car park, all on CCTV, but you can't send a 10 year old to prison, can you...

Currently infesting Thornton's Park, Kingsthorpe, Northampton. Northampton and its beautiful parks seem to have suffered badly this year from this disease.

Has anybody ever got a written explanation from a Chief Constable, anywhere, clearly explaining why the police won't take action against these 'Travellers' in so many parts of the UK ?

Because it's too hard to get a conviction. So it won't go towards the figures. So it doesn't merit the time and effort.

No but I have been seriously contemplating writing to ours, and the commissioner. I'm trying to think of some FoI angle I can use to force a reply.

Police commissioners, what a joke. See if you can get a direct assurance of support against the nuisance of travellers.

Corbyn made a manifesto pledge to give travellers MORE rights, remember...
I know. Proper face palm moment. How can that make a milligram of sense?
The Labour git in charge of where my brother lives is making noise about Sandwell becoming a "safe sanctuary" for Esox.
I bet if they rocked up next to his house he would be straight on the phone to the police.
Corbyn and his mob are vehemently anti-establishment and anti-system, so any fringe movement/group on the fringe of "normal" society, such as travellers, are to be applauded and protected, regardless of their parasitic tendencies.

However, if Corbyn gets in to power the issue of travellers will be the least of our concerns.

you see I read posts by people who are directly affected and it simply reinforces my view that I don't care when one of the pikets gets killed at wherever it is. I just think they are parasitic vermin and I'm glad I am seeing comments like infestation in this thread

That sounds like good way forward, well done.

Encountered a number on my way back from work this evening.

I sat there watching them setting up camp (good 20 caravans) in the car park of the Asda on the Old Kent Road as I filled up with petrol, more were coming in as I left :/

Free accommodation and five finger discounts on food, all less than 1.5 miles from London Bridge!

Well done Derbyshire police! This bunch thought they would have at least a week before they were shifted with a court order. The police evicted them on the second day for defecating in the park and causing a health hazard to the public

No arrests made, though? Just "move along, please" then?

Once again, the criminal behaviour of these low-lives is ignored?

Police and councils have no bottle.

Arrest them in order to prevent a breach of the peace.
Tow away vans/caravans.

This country is beyond a joke now..........................

I had a doctors appointment a few weeks back. Parked in a council car park-bugger, no change for machine.
Took a chance, in/out of doctors in 10 mins.
Got back to car, yep- PCN!!

This is in essex where we are infested with them!

Yesterday 20 plus vans turned up in Cotgrave Notts not the best area.
Reports in the first day of fights kids throwing stones at cars, dodgy 50 pound notes being offered by 'irish' men. A house being stripped thefts etc.
The local labour party candidate reports all the posts as being racist!
State normal then.

Will be hard to tell who did the st I guess...in fact hard to tell the difference between the st and the traveller! smile

BUT why no s.59 notice on the vans and cars? No one can claim it will make them homeless, but it will stop them "working" if the vans got taken for a s.59 offence

This should be the answer, but they'll just go and steal more. Spreading the pain and cost further.

Not dealing with criminal behaviour because of fear of the race card is why Pakistani child abusers got away with it (and continue to do so, it seems) for so long. One day, perhaps lessons WILL be learned by the PC-led idiots!
