Can't go wrong with North Face IMO. Pretty cheap at outlets (when open) and they do the job.
Not a brand I’m drawn to, has a sniff of Oswald Baileys to it biggrin

I'll always suggest Woolrich, but not sure if that's a bit too pricey? Got two jackets from them and they're fantastic.

Alternatively maybe Barbour?

Is there any value in empty boxes? I have a box for a pair of Jordan 7 retro in the Marvin the Martian colourway in a us size 13 bout from the USA (if that makes any difference).

I’m about to throw it but I thought I’d ask first.

I’ve still got the shoes, love them and I’m going to wear them until they die but I know some people get fanatical about boxes for some things.

I still have the receipt for$207.85 from September 2015.

I had to Google Oswald Bailey.

and that's coming from someone who is geeky about outdoor gear.

North Face's image is ruined now by 14 year old scrotes who like to match it up with some sort of Air Max; whole outfit black, obvs, for a productive nights burgling.

I'm also with Jimi on the other brands mentioned a few posts back.

I've only got one North Face piece.

Bought it for dog walking. Lightweight, warm and packable.

Really happy with it.

On sale at the moment. Only £90.

Dunno how chunky you want to go but Rollersnakes have some decent options, I got the Quiksilver Storm Drop 5K in 'Crocodile' for 90 quid, nice and toasty and feels well put together.

You can add a returns label to your order for £2.99 if you're ordering multiple sizes etc.

Also this H&M one might be a bit lower quality but it's only £20! It probably won't stand up to a good soaking though.

Any recommendations for waterproof winter trainers? Looking for something cheap and bright (not old man shoes). Just for around town on (Scottish) rainy/snowy/cold days. Bought these from Decathlon for £50 but returning due to poor fit. Thanks! smile

If they are for running, one word: don't.

Walking they are fine, but otherwise a waste of time. Used to do a bit of fell running and the thing (according to the experts) is to have very light, easy draining shoes, especially for races with river crossing. They are very un-waterproof, but the point is even GoreTex trainers fill up when overtopped.

Walking wise, go for any decent outdoor make. I've got some Merrells that I've had for years which work, but anything that fits really. Bergahus, On Cloud, Salomon etc.

Thanks yes definitely not for running - I share your views! These would be for around town on wet days. Finding my current mesh-topped trainers get soaked through very quickly.

Up to £100 I guess. As a Scot, cheaper is better... smile

I got a pair of Terrex - and they are fine for our Scottish weather...

Since you're just stoating about town, there's no need to go daft on the technical aspect, and just about anything from a decent brand will do the job, and especially if GoreTex.

Have a look at the above, and play with the filter by type.

I've a pair of the Nike Gore-tex and they are comfy and to date have handled any bad weather they've been subjected too whilst walking from car park to the office.

Not a bad call. A few years back, Adidas bought out Five Ten who make high performance climbing and mountain bike shoes amongst other things, so a lot of their tech also now ends up in the Adidas branded stuff too.
