That's quite impressive. Cameras that can shoot 200 FPS are quite expensive. silly
Slight typo by me. Meant thousands of photos over the whole evening, but it felt as if their phone was out every 5 seconds, not thousands of photos in 5 seconds! laugh If it was thousands of photos in 5 seconds at least they could put their phone away for the rest of the show!

Flashback to same show. People in a tightly packed crowd that can't stop flailing their arms about to the music. I always seem to end up next to them, getting near clattered on the side of the head in the process.

It's the whistlers that get me. It's like a sonic drill through my skull.

Mind you, I haven't been to a live gig since Smartphones took off so I'd probably hate those too now. smile

They do that to show everybody how much they are into the music, and how they are getting so much more out of the experience than you are.

Very much like the chap I saw at the Fireworks display last week, who filmed the entire thing on his ipad.

I take quite a lot, to be fair, but I do try to keep it in a reasonable place. As my camera is getting on a bit, it doesn't really like taking photos in low-light conditions, so "Hi-speed continuous" mode is essential, then get rid of the 90%-odd that are blurred later on.

I thought it was weird watching the ELO Hyde Park gig last year how so many people were holding up their phones to video it. Er, you do know this is on BBC HD at the moment, so you could just set your video (or whatever) to record it in way better quality? I guess it's just about the "memory".

The only reason to take a photograph, of a thing or event that has/is being professionally photographed, is to include the people you are with. The Pro's will not be focussing on the moment Janice spilt her Cider and Black, all down the front of her new (previously white) dress.

People filming the stage and trying to avoid getting other people in shot are morons.

Talking of inappropriate mobile phone use:

Nobody likes someone talking loudly on a phone but that's an overreaction...

We were a the San Marino MotoGP and the chap to my right with his massive zoom lens kept swinging it right in front of my face everytime a bike came past.
So I kept leaning forward just as he was on the move.

He must have many photo's of the back of my head.

Because maybe then I wouldn't have to see most of the gig through the phone screen of the person in front. I can understand taking the odd photo, but some people just go overboard, presumably for Facebook purposes. Strange, because usually if I tell someone I've been at a gig they believe me without insisting on photo evidence, or a poor quality recording of the whole show.
You must be going to the wrong type of gig.
Most of the gigs i went to normally had bottles of truckers tizer being flung through the air, you wouldnt want to be putting a £600 quid phone above the parapet

Last gig I went to (Lowry - King Crimson), the punters were politely informed if mobiles or cameras were used the users would be chucked out. I understand this is the case at all shows at The Lowry.

People wearing hats in a gym, even more so if combined with shorts and a vest. How messed up must your body be to have warm legs and arms but a cold head!

What must these cold headed fcensoredkwitts think before setting off to the gym 'Going to do some exercise indoors, best put a hat on'

Maybe, for men, they are balding and want to hide it? Or, for women, they think it is more stylish and convenient way of holding their hair out of the way than a hairband or whatever.

How does their choice of attire affect you anyway? Maybe you fancy yourself as Gok Wan or something. smile

It seems to affect them more than me. Maybe they are on an indoor hat forum now ranting about some wannabe Gok Wan who keeps glancing at them in the gym wavey

Do you even have a sense of humour? I'm really starting to wonder.

I'm flattered you spend time really wondering. There, that's funny.
