That's why the hotties come to Clapham because they can pick off the guys they want in Sugarcane Bar. Or Infernos if they are not.

I thought infernos had closed, or was that just wishful thinking? I was hoping all the cheap wine and shots soaked into the carpet had finally actually gone up in flames...

I was due a second date last sunday... but she invited me over late friday night so I hopped in a cab, and didn't leave hers until saturday afternoon.

Went on the date on sunday, went back to her's again... but we didn't really click so agreed to call it a day.

Starting to get into the swing of this now.

The individual concerned is well known for "embellishing", even among members of my vocation, so a fair point. hehe

No, no. He's real, it's just his knife which isn't.

Saw this batting around the Internet today. Thought it would go down well here.

Man pretending to be Ed Milliband on Tinder

It's brilliant, some chick on tinder sent it to me last night.

28 year old lawyer for cocktails this evening, looks promising so far.

That is pretty ace, it even sounds like Milliband when you read it aloud in your head.

I find this disturbing as anytime he shows up on the telly I make a point of turning him off, yet no amount of mind bleach seems able to remove the echoes of his nasal sniveling.

I feel like damaged goods now, where can I find redemption?

In a 28 year old lawyer, of course. Follow CB’s example.

rebuilding my pof profile and remembered the one thing (one?) that is very odd, you have to say what you're looking for, i.e 'dating but nothing serious' 'long term relationship' ' marriage' or whatever

Why? Do you go to a party and think i'm definately looking for someone to marry and ignore the offers of a tug? I dont think so. Vice-versa, if your looking for a tug and end up meeting the woman of your dreams, do you dump her at the altar as all you wanted was a tit-wk?

Why can't you just say 'depends' Perhaps you can and i didnt figure it out. TBH I don't bother looking at that bit when looking through profiles, not sure whether lasses do or not, I only look at photos/hobbies/smoking/grammar/lack of text speak

How did it go or is she still at your place? wink

Can I just say that your advice on gambling on the hottie was absolutely spot on and I eventually got home at 2:00PM on Sunday afternoon.

It was a binge of tequila and cocktails that got very messy, I don't remember the end of the night really so couldn't tell you anyway.

This afternoon is drinks with a stupidly hot American chick, I'll have to try to stay sober for this one.

Hmm seems OKCupid is no better than POF... about 150 messages sent over the last two weeks, about 25 profile visits and a grand total of 3 messages back all of which haven't replied back after a reply, or in one case an evening of banter.

fk internet dating!

you're right. No one ever gets a date on internet dating, you'd think everyone would have given up on it by now. Or maybe it's your st banter, tedious personality and butterface that's getting you no replies... Post an example of one of those 150 messages and lets see.

I have heard POF described as the Lambert and Butler of dating websites and I would definitely agree to that. I also found that I had quite a good success rate if the woman messaged me first, but not much if I messaged the woman first. It is full of divorced women with kids who are looking for a romantic, rich guy with model looks and don't understand why they can't find one.

I have actually given up on POF now and have started using Tinder. Firstly, I think the standard of women is higher and the whole experience seems to be a lot more relaxed. You tend to get women who would not normally sign up to a dating website (no children, decent jobs etc.) who are not necessarily looking for a relationship, but want to go out with for the night and see what happens.

So what that means is it all boils down to how good your photos and banter are! As long as you are half decent looking and can string a sentence together, that gives you an advantage over most of the men out there!

And remember to be confident, women can smell desperation a mile away...

So while you are getting nowhere, CB is hoovering up all the women! wink
