can't believe someone is posting north face caps in a thread about being well dressed!!!
Being well dressed doesn't mean wearing tweed at all times. Nothing worse than some try hard in a flat cap.I would say so.
I have taken to sports jackets, chinos and shirt, sweater and a Mac.
Lot of layering, but works well in this weather.
Even going as far as having the pocket handkerchief sticking out.
I think my contractor mindset has set in now after a few years of this lark.
Nothing worse than suit trousers and a baggy shirt.
Outside of work, anything goes.

Good sale on at Reiss at the moment.
Just ordered a black parker jacket for £115 (reduced from £400) and various woollen garms...
Looking at their blazers, some of the lapels are harking back to my youth... maybe I should check the loft. Just ordered a black parker jacket for £115 (reduced from £400) and various woollen garms...

A baseball cap is up there with trackies as the ultimate chav attire. It wouldn’t matter if it had a Gieves and Hawkes badge on it, it’s still, and always will be, chav. A flat cap isn’t necessarily chav, although I’d baulk at those overly large Peaky Blinders style caps.
I have a Lock & Co baseball cap which I rather like; though looking on their website today I have to say mine was MUCH cheaper than the ones they are selling now!LordGrover said:

They look almost exactly the same. Somewhere in cyberspace induction roar is having a seizure.
I don't know what you mean by that last sentence.

Induction Roar is the OP I don't know what you mean by that last sentence.
In the context of this particular thread baseball caps and well dressed are mutually exclusive.
In summary: "There are few more distressing sights than an Englishman in a baseball cap."

They do look almost exactly the same, and both the staple attire of a tracksuit wearer. Cost and label are irrelevant, baseball caps are for chavs and baseball players.
Well we can agree to disagree and I won't clog up this thread with more argument. I think it is quite narrow minded to say that a baseball cap has no place in anyone other than a chav's wardrobe. I'd rather wear a baseball cap with the roof down than look like a try hard with a flat cap. Antony Moxey said:

Crikey. Slightly inflexible viewpoint.Surely, like most things, it depends how, when and where you are wearing it?

Flat cap or baseball cap isn’t an either/or choice, and you can easily wear a flat cap without ‘trying hard’ (whatever that’s supposed to mean). As an aside, why do you need to wear any head attire at all when driving with the roof down? When I drive my kit car all I wear on my head are a pair of wraparounds, or maybe a crash helmet if I venture onto a motorway (it is a bit low and doesn’t have a windscreen).
