Tell us something really trivial about your life (Vol 29)
Discussion
Well, I survived the night.
I’ve had a breakfast of soggy toast (not a euphemism) and salty porridge (ditto). My leg still hurts but all things being equal, it looks like I’m being repatriated to Dibble Towers today. Transport will be by land ambulance, so the current lack of windsock en route shouldn’t cause too much of a problem.
If it does present an issue, we can always abort and do a “go around”, or hold in the circuit until the bloomers are hoisted. A fleur de lys gusset really does change the meaning of a “cross wind landing”...

Excellent news, Dibble. Normally we would provide outriders but unfortunately the TT Motor Cycle Display Team are having a group sulk after being told off by Constable Carbuncle during Monday's informal wheelie competition outside the Windmill & Widow.I’ve had a breakfast of soggy toast (not a euphemism) and salty porridge (ditto). - I really don't know why he got so over excited, we blocked the road off and threw a couple of hay bales up for safety!!!
Dibble homeward bound? Marvellous news.
I'd raise a flag to mark the occasion but there's been a bit of a hitch. I managed to procure a pair of Brassington bloomers (Battert has a drawer full of the things if the sad truth be known) and hoisted them up the hangar flagpole.
All that's happened is they've become sopping wet in the rain and have now wrapped themselves tightly around the pole.
The pulley ropes are effectively jammed and we haven't got a ladder long enough to reach the top.

I've unloaded some of the car ,I need another holiday after doing just that and also uploaded 1875 pics ,which does include
Auto Italia the weekend before I went away but that is still a LOT of pics.
Here's on of my favourite MM pics ,
2 participants overtaking another out on the open road.
Some ,probably a lot of the 1875 are a bit rubbish but I'm pleased with some of them.

I chose that spot to watch from ,it was easier to take pics from the other side of the road but some cars were missed
due to traffic going in the other direction.
The Mercedes' and Ferrari "tours" that support the MM were already going up the road as I drove down so I had
to find somewhere quickly and I then spent the next few hours in the same place watching 400+ cars pass.
It's quite picturesque backdrop ,slightly spoiled by having Armco in the pic.

Love that picture Peri, are you going to put a few more Up?
Well this is a bit weird, not used to being home at this time on a Friday!!!
I will start a thread and post a good few of the best pics.Well this is a bit weird, not used to being home at this time on a Friday!!!
I failed to start a thread on the last trip to France but this one is too good to miss out with sharing pics.
Not enough people share pics any more ,there's a bloke in Classic forum who has posted 2 "what's this car ?" threads
from following the MM.
How about sharing the rest of your pics fella ?
I mentioned some months ago about driving down the road used in the opening sequence of Quantum of Solace, the road down the west
side of Lake Garda.
Yep ,done it now ,it wasn't too memorable ,it's very winding and the speed limits are low ,so not much fun to be allowed.
I drove some of it at 3am.
I need to thank Bomma for helping with the name ....of the road ,the Talimone sul Garda I think it is.
It's also difficult to know exactly which tunnel was used in the film as there are many tunnels on this road and many
look exactly the same as the last.

Don’t we have a Cherry Picker we could use to retrieve the Bloomers?
Suspect La Brassington won’t remember the aforementioned Cherry anyway, I’ll wager it went AWOL years ago!!
We used to have one Jim, it was wrecked during the windmill crisis. Didn't even make it to the scene, veered off the towpath and plunged straight into the canal.Suspect La Brassington won’t remember the aforementioned Cherry anyway, I’ll wager it went AWOL years ago!!
I'm wondering now about using Penrose for an aerial assault on the beleaguered bloomers
