I fell for similar in Vegas years ago ... disappointment was rife

But then every cloud ... the casino gift shop has this to sweeten a ‘bum deal’ (their words not mine)

Frankly, given my (lack of) knowledge and interest in football, it may as well be that. silly

A BBC subtitle read ".. the victim, a sixty-one year old school staff member..." as "...Vic Tim, a sickly one year old school staff member..." only last week. It reminded me of two small ads in our local freesheet:

For sale, Fiat Mirror Fury, low mileage."

For sale, "Sniff Coroner portable typewriter."

For the uninitiated the first is supposed to be Mirafiore and second is Smith Corona. Chuckles all round.

Sure it was not supposed to read Fiat Mirafiori?

biggrin I wonder what they sell?

Do you think that they will ever get around to putting the cables underground? Perhaps when they decide that electricity is here to stay. Japan is like that too - a cat's cradle of cables slung randomly from poles.

http://pinkpvssy.com - work safe - it’s just another novelty store selling all kinds of anime-type accessories

My mother had a Mirafiori when I were a lad.

Actually, bodywork apart, quite a nice car with a proper peppy little motor in it. And much more reliable than the Audi 100 she replaced it with!

To be fair to Fiat, my Good Lady had a 1976 128 Panorama (estate) and I have to admit I enjoyed driving it - it was nippy and made the right noises. It handled quite well, and you can heel and toe quite readily. It had done a very low mileage when we acquired it for a mere £950 and went on to do good service for a few years before we sold it. No rust at all when we got it, but it needed a rear wheel arch repair towards the end of its life with us. Both my children learned to drive on it too.
