The old dog's asleep on her mattress and has her hind legs crossed. Sign of good fortune, that.

I'll cross my fingers now I've resolved the Superglue business.

Best wishes for Princess Senior.

Synchronicity or what?

Try to time your trip on the K&A to coincide with a running day at the Crofton pumping station south of Hungerford.

There are two beam engines, one of which was built by Boulton and Watt in 1812. That's the fella, James Watt.

Forget that the job is now done by a couple of pumps the size of a sewing machine and enjoy the spectacle.
Synchronicity? Damn fine album that. The Police, 1983iirc. Wrapped around your finger is my fave track I think, good for high volumes & speeds late at night, especially on the Naim system in the PB`s Flying Spur driving

Like the sound of those engines, il have to look into it. Trip may not be entirely straightforward as we will need a Licence from CRT to cruise I think, EA licence only covers the first bit of the K&A.

Bloody Boating bureaucrats!!

No help with the crossword at this time of day fella but I do have a couple of Rum babas to dispose of if you are interested. Shall we say Horsell common carpark at 07.30 hours? Just flash you headlights twice, you know, just like last time.
Back from Egypt, there's no pub there just a bus shelter without staff - bloody ridiculous how's a man supposed to get a stiff one at 8am when they can't even be bothered to have a morning shift. The shelter was empty until 8.30 until some kids appeared I told them they were under age but in the absence of any barman I was wasting my time. I presume the kids had nicked the optics too as they had disappeared - but I have to hand it to them they had a bus laid on for 8.44 to take them to another bar.

I've been thinking about my recalcitrant neighbour and the long standing boundary issue over my ditch and revetments - its still a huge issue and he just doesn't get it that all trenches zig zag to reduce aerial bombardment casualties and the fact that the 'zags' go through his petunia border is a small price to pay for the men's safety.

I may have him 'taken out of the frame' too and like your idea of the quick exit to France...... must have taken a bit of planning that, nice one Jim.
