Is it bad that despite the fact the poster i am thinking of doesn't frequent our little corner of reality, i know full well that this particular poster will have been watching last nights shenanigans in their MAGA baseball cap, fueled by their favourite 'merican whiskey and menacingly holding their favourite US police issue shotgun.

I've typed and deleted what i wanted to say about a dozen times already and i havent seen anything from this particular poster as i am staying out of their way becayse this person is just simply a massive troll and "Yeah!!!!!!! 'Merica!!!!!!!!!" and i have no desire to venture into NP&E but part of me thinks it's me and maybe i should chill out a bit.
If thats the poster I am thinking about he has been banned from npe

It is a nasty, insidious little virus, it put me in hospital on an IV line for a while. Be careful WS.
Thanks Slopes

I'm staying at home apart from a walk now and then, avoiding the seafront as last time I was there few people were sticking to the rules. Cue the mad chef Mungo in the Monty Python "Dirty Fork" sketch.

I just dipped a toe into NP&E - Keyboard Warriors Central, I'll stay in Trivton.

What's that? You are looking for a sensible SUV to tow a caravan and it has to be automatic and diesel and definitely not a 2 seater V8?
You want a Corvette mate.

I would laugh but sadly i think i know who you're referring to.

Somethings going on here at wemakeplanebits.com and it's not good, i truly fear that there may be mass redundancies and a huge reduction in the machineshop.

It could be worse, Bobbers:

You could be the outgoing President of the United States of America.

Or even worse, the President Elect of that Office.

A poisoned chalice, to be sure.

Throughout my long and varied career, I have acquired a rather special set of skills been made redundant from better places than wemakeplanebits.com

You just have to be flexible and adaptable ( and know the right people ).
There's a lot of money to be made in the fast food fish finger sandwich subsector right now.

But for now, I would advise you to just brass it out!

Best of luck, young man. thumbup

Thanks for the support chaps, we're not being told anything, rumours are rife, jobs are disappearing to a sister M/Cshop as they are cheaper than us, or moved out to subcon, managers are being very tight lipped but other people have made reference to at least 5 possibly 7 machines being removed from the shop and when cornered and pushed one manager simply changed the subject of what was happening!!

Best of luck with it Bobbers. Very uncertain times.

Those Trump supporters need a check up from the neck up!

My estate car has been having a few issues with some of the electronics when started dirt thing in the morning. The problem goes away if the car is restarted later in the day but it does seem to be getting more frequent.
A search on a Mercedes forum indicates that this is the first sign of main battery being on it’s way out. Rather than wait until it dies and I am stranded I have ordered a new battery.
Mercedes dealer wanted £280 without fitting yikes, got one for less than half of that.

What is even more annoying is that the car has two batteries and the other one had to be replaced last year (at a similar cost).
Whisky is a much better way to spend the money drink

I read somewhere that if they are allowed to drop below ten and a half volts they're kernackered and won't take a charge. So far since the lockdown in March I've managed to fandangle the batteries in two of the three cars here. Not forgetting I thought I was exercising them sufficiently. Next step, trickle chargers. There's always something.

Nissan tipper battery on charge as we speak/type and next is the Komatsu digger. Track car battery is ok but will bring it into the house.
Main problem is that once these stone barns get cold they stay very cold. Impossible to work in them without heating.
