General question about Jordan 4s: I picked up the Military Blue on release and it's probably the only Jordan 4 i've tried on.

Do people find they have high arches along the medial of the shoe? It also feels like there is pressing under my big toe which raises it. My foot is not flat in the shoe and it's a bit of a weird fit.

I have tried removing the insoles and it does improve the comfort - so I think it's largely a Nike insole issue.

In any case, are they likely to break in and become more comfortable? Or is it going to be a losing battle?

Just ordered a pair of Adidas Hoops 3 in brown, to go with the black pair I already have which have become my favourite trainer for now..

They will break in and be more comfortable. My Bred 4 is like a favourite comfy armchair now.

Is that the Reimagined pair?

I did hear that pair was very comfortable compared to other Jordan 4s. The Jordan 4 SB is meant to be the most comfortable.

Other than those 2 pairs, the general opinion is it's an uncomfortable silhouette.

I've got the Lightning 4s and Olive Craft 4s and both of those are fine. I have quite narrow feet with high arches though so perhaps that's the difference.

Not as comfy as 3's, but much more comfortable than 1s.

I guess i'm fairly flat footed.

3's are quite comfortable and I don't even mind 1's too much. I find Dunk / SB Dunk pretty comfortable even though others would complain about the comfort levels.

That might be it, I find Dunks very uncomfortable for that exact reason, the lack of arch support. Same as Vans, I know some people find them the most comfortable shoe ever but I can't wear them all day.

Before I started wearing Nike / Jordans, I used to wear Vans until they were beaten to death. I remember them being a bit uncomfortable to start with, then after about a month they felt so comfortable and could happily spend all day in them.

I wore that type of canvas / hard rubber sole shoe for years and it was comfortable. I suspect if I try them now they will probably feel uncomfortable.

Maybe that's just a consequence of getting older. I have a slight arch but am probably more on the flat foot side.

I have and have had quite a few pairs of the 4s and 3s

Some of the 3s feel terrible - my True Blue (2016) is absolutely horrendous and is only really used sparingly and at the gym for legs (machines, not squats)

The 4s on the other hand - the Bred Reimagined are leagues ahead of everything else but I felt the Thunders, Taupe Haze, Motorsports and Military Blacks are all not that uncomfortable to wear.

these newer runner specials have no splash protection, less grip but they are great street trainer in warmer climates with little rain, rough , uneven pavements and steep inclines.
pretty niche!

I have a pair ina different colourway and have tot be mindful of the weather when wearing them.

I find Nike are pretty inconsistent. I've got somewhere in the region of 110 pairs and no two pairs of the same silhouette feel the same. I have really comfy J5s and unwearable ones. Really comfy Foams and unwearable ones. Really comfy J4s and... you get the idea.

I literally just sold my DS Garde la Pêche pair. I still have Hanon and Foot Patrol pairs but I'll probably move those on also. Can't remember if I have any more too, actually scratchchin As much as I like them, they're not the best fit for me, sadly - a bit long for the width.
