53 years old here and still skating, I have also been snowboarding for 25 years. I have a number of boards; here is one of my more odd ones:
I`ve got one of these too, I don`t have a long and twisty hill to use it on hence I`ve used it once, just can`t use it as a skateboard and definitely can`t be bothered to lug it around, I keep threatening it with E-bay!
These are very collectable now as if I remember rightly they were made in very small numbers. I have been made many big money offers in the past. The main problem with them is that they are very heavy and you cant adjust the role stffness of the trucks. But on the right day they are good funI`ve got one of these too, I don`t have a long and twisty hill to use it on hence I`ve used it once, just can`t use it as a skateboard and definitely can`t be bothered to lug it around, I keep threatening it with E-bay!
46 here, still got my skateboard from the 70's, california slalom trucks, had a really narrow, fish shape plastic with metal reinforced deck - sadly replaced by a GRP deck and can't remember make of wheels (superspeeds/speed kings?).
Used it recently ..........
to move the freezer out of the kitchen (might have had a cheeky go on the patio though).

I read this book about the history of Skateboarding back about 10 years ago I think but lost the book sometime after.
Just received a copy that I bought of Ebay and forgot how good it was.
It's told through the eyes of Jocko Weyland the writer and his thoughts on the rise of skateboarding.
It's a great read if anyone is interested.

I'm 43 years old. I was a keen skater in the eighties.
I had various boards back in the day, Powell Peralta was always my favourite.
Today, I was in the mall here in Dubai when I spotted this beauty. All the good memories came flooding back.
I had to buy it!
Do I hang it on the wall or get skating again?!
:-)
