I reckon the difference between a hobby and a pastime is that you can get better at a hobby the more you do it. So I'd say they're pastimes, but I've nothing against pastimes.

I bet that rules most golfers out….always hear how they get worse with practice!!

Ah, but in theory they get better with practice.

Practice and theory being the same in theory, but not in practice.

As far as I got with a pastime was that it should not turn a profit, and there should be magazines about it.

Where I usually shoot it's £30 for eighty clays and the cartridges I used are£280 a thousand.
