Where are these yurts?
Emsworth, Hampshire, just a little east of where we live. Will get a sitrep on ground conditions soon as the missus has just left to go there. My money is on deep mud!
About 30 miles west and it’s been lovely all day, sadly, I’m taking the weather back home with me tomorrow. Sorry.

I've just walked across the village green a little further east again - and it's really not bad at all.

Hope you have a great break.

Aha! I thought that was the Purbecks in the far distance but couldn't work out the closer bit (Hengistbury Head...)

smile we are in between at Port Solent, so the yurts are really close to home. Proprietors have provided electric blankets, hot water bottles and logs for the burners. I am guessing the bbq will wait.

As mentioned earlier, the weather has been crap overnight, improved through the afternoon and is raining a bit again now. No great shakes really, just weather as we often see down here.

Morning all.

Well, it has worked out quite OK for me. Our cat needs feeding quite regularly as it is quite young so I was commanded to go home every night to look after it. woohoo

Apparently it has been very noisy rain on the canvas but dry and warm in the yurts. It has been fine in the house smile

We managed to get a fajita bbq yesterday evening during a nice lull in the weather. We have all 4 yurts onsite booked, so plenty of cooking facilities at each Yurt to pull it all together. Click on first image for a poor quality panorama.

Might pop back for lunch if the drizzle stops.

Yot yhat y yhought a yurt yould yook yike.

I yhought they were things made of sticks and moose skins on bare earth with a fire in the middle and a hole in the middle of the roof to let the smoke out.

Yhose things look like you could live in them all year round.

You would hate them Colin. Log burner supplemented by an electric fire, electric blankets, would be waaaaay too warm for you.

But as you say, they are quite good, off the floor with proper beds inside, flooring and rugs with electric, a sink, shower annex each etc, even a hot tub! I am not sure about living year round as if you have ever been camping, the wind and rain noise on the structure is immense - so I am told biggrin

I will stick to my regular tents with of course, carpets, electric hookup etc when the weather is better.
