Mumsnet thread mouthing off at PH thread.

Hope it's not been covered before, feel free to speak up if so.

Before today I'd never been on the site. In the Lily Allen thread someone linked a Mumsnet thread, which got me browsing, mainly to see if the place is as bad as many of you say.

I happened to put 'Pistonheads' in the search field, and stumbled on the above. Now I don't just think it's me, as the near universal praise on comments on the thread suggest, but I thought it was laugh like a drain/spit your drink out funny as far as threads go.

On the flipside, I'd estimate 75% of the MN thread posters thought it was childish, bullying and racist. the last point being the black lady against a black background. NOT racist, would the OP not have done the same gag if it was a pasty skinned white girl against a white background? Bullying? Not really, it's OTT slapstick, would it be bullying if you received such a thing from a lass on a dating site, I think I'd laugh TBH!

Not only has it been covered on here before, but IIRC there were some serious consequences after some PH members decided to wage war on Mumsnet in by setting up accounts and stirring up st on their site. Mumsnet then contact Garlick (PH's big-cheese at the time) threating all sorts (legal action/complaints to Haymarket/advertisers etc) which consequently gets a bunch of PH'ers perma-banned and a stern warning posted in the lounge (or maybe it was still the Pie & Piston back then) reminding all PH not to bring PH into disrepute. The original threads were deleted, but this closed topic helps explain a bit more:
