How often do you go in your spare room?
Discussion
Since I separated from my wife I've been living in a 2-bed flat. But, I only occasionally go into the second bedroom. I go in there sometimes to just open the blind for a change, or put some washed towels in the drawers. Maybe look out the window for a bit & make sure the garden hasn't disappeared.
Then I leave and go back onto the front room.
I think it makes me feel lonely cos it's an unused, unneeded room

Similar here, I kept the house which is a 3 bed and it's a bit too big just for me to be honest. I keep thinking I should downsize but it makes financial sense to keep this one but I sometimes miss my old 1 bedroom flat.
One bedroom I sleep in, one I use as a junk room/gym/drying room and the other is kind of lost space that the cats use more than I do.

I have one of those new Coachhouses, which has a really long loft. Would be pretty good for a model railway, if it wasn't a less strong/modern build loft with about 2 feet of insulation up there! You could run a full length OO gauge Inter City 125 quite easily I reckon. My spare room I was going to set up as a music room. I have a digital piano and keyboard in there and half a wall of CD's, but all my other synths are packed away. I haven't got around to doing anything else as yet. I go in there about two or 3 times a day.
Broke up with the ex a few months back, she moved out, and the "spare room" is only in use for the kids when they sleep over at my place.
Ill need to sell the place eventually, and ive been contemplating where id live next. If i do end up with a spare room (after a bedroom for me, and one for the kids to sleep over), itll be my study/hobby room, computer desk (nice to keep it out of the living room), and some lego etc..

Whenever I want to see how the construction of the road being built is going, or watch the fat bd squirrel raiding our next door neighbour's bird feeder. Again.
Maybe three or four times a day for a couple of minutes on a day off. Once when I get home from work otherwise, unless retrieving a book from the bookcase.

I keep my clothes in ours, keeps the bedroom free of clutter and looking tidier. Do the same.
Planning on doing this with my one when it's done up (currently in slow progress). Currently it's just a big dumping ground for stuff I use frequently but not all the time (skis, fishing stuff etc.).I can sympathise OP. I retained our family home (long story) when my wife left me and at the same time our 2 teenage daughters left home. I find myself doing my round of the 4 empty bedrooms opening the blinds and windows in the morning then in the evening closing them again.
Right now I have 2 songs going through my head, Gary Moore - Empty Rooms and Abba - Knowing Me Knowing You.
Haunting.
