Someone explain this "joke" to me

Taken from another thread. I just don't get this at all.Given that it is obviously intended to be funny, and casting aside my fury for people who thing using "owned" or even more cretinously "pwned" is clever- what is the actual humour here?
Is it just that one man has lots more points than the other two?
It can't be just that surely. .... COuld it?

I doubt that anyone would make a joke that is so obscure that it neccesitates knowing the rules and regulations of a game show that noone has heard of.

Although you have to be a bit careful on the basis that so many people use these sort of things on purpose because they deem it funny, that it is easy to believe it is deliberate and you are ONE OF THEM
