My brothers 40th is coming up, and I want to get him something a bit different but haven't got a frikin clue. He doesn't really collect anything, he does photography but I wanted to get something he'd keep rather than something that'd go out of date, so to speak...

I thought about a pen, but wasn't sure if I could get one "nice" enough to be worthy of a special gift within budget - any suggestions on pens between £60 & £100?

Or...is that crap? anything else?!!

I guess it doesn't have to last, it's just that anything he wants he just goes and buys so it really is the thought that counts with his presents.

Which, on reflection probably means a decent bottle of whisky would go down well...

What are his hobbies/past-times ?

What is his standard of living ? (i.e Will £100 be more than he'd spend on something for himself, or petty cash ?)
He works. All the time. His life is his job. He enjoys photography, but rarely has time because... he's at work.

and petty cash, really.
