So the 'reformed due for release within 2 years inmates' have shown the worthiness of release in their prison rehab by their smashing-up and setting fire to their open prison.

They have wantonly destroyed their own gym and equipment as with other expensive facilities. Well feck'em, from now let them do press-ups in their cells.

IMO - do not replace these facilities, let them suffer without them or let inmates take it out on the perpetrators of these crimes.

But let's get back into the real world where I expect that there will soon be news of a new mega mllion re-fit of this prison.

I think the rioters were not standard open prison inmates, but those from more 'secure' prisons who were put in Ford because of full capacity in the types of prison they should have been in.

ETA. too late.
I can't stop laughing, another debarcle the Coalition have inherited from Gormless Brown and his cronies. God give me strength, how much deeper does Gordon's pit become? Doesn't bother him though, his book sale will feather his nest.

The perpretrators will be returned to closed conditions and once rebuilt it will be filled with
new cat "D"s, which will be deemed suitiable for open conditions. These prisoners will push the bounderies to see what they can get away with. In doing this the shiny new institution will once again require some more building work. This will probably not be reported unless it can't be hidden like what happened today.
Good post, probably not details likely to be reported or liked 'by the PC brigade'
