Well tonight is my last night as a smoker. I've just had my last ever ciggie, and I've given the rest of my tabs to the missus.
I've been on Champix now for 10 days and I feel ready to do this.
So, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls; please wish me luck and pray that my shift tomorrow is easy and stress free.
Many thanks

Champix was standard prescription cost (£7.20 per fortnight). It's not made me feel sick when I smoke, but does cause a bit of nausea when I take them. The other thing I've found is that I'm smoking out of habit or boredom rather than need. I will light up a smoke then realise I don't actually want it so throw it away (that's really unusual for me!)
Let's see what tomorrow brings lol

Buy the book 'easy way to stop smoking' by Alan Carr and spend an evening reading it cover to cover. Worst case you'll have lost a fiver and three hours of your life. Best case you'll never want another cigarette again, you'll save yourself a fortune and may live a wee bit longer.
Certainly worked for me.

Please tell me the missus destroyed the left-over tabs? If she's a smoker, your odds are poor!
Good luck
She is a smoker, but she is one of these really annoying types who can just stop smoking for months at a time; whereas I'm just a nicotine junkie!Good luck
Plus, if she does carry on smoking she'll be banished from the house and car whilst tabbing lol
Fair play to you.I gave up 7 years ago - cut out all the 'trigger' cigs and went cold turkey. Looking back was fairly easy - just kept saying to myself didn't want to be killing myself. You will put on weight - so join a gym lol _ but when you look back it will be the best thing you ever did. Keep going.
Good luck mate.
I gave up in feb this year after having a stroke in Jan (I was 49).
Didn't realise the harm it does to you. Once I did, there was no way I'd smoke again.
They told me if I carried on smoking and didn't help myself they're not interested in me either.
Seemed a fair enough argument. The Mrs gave up with me.
Use the NHS. I had microtabs the Mrs had the inhalor cig thing.
We had to go and see the nurse every few weeks but you'll get there.
Nearly 9 months down the line, and I am in fine health.
And the extra money is excellent !!!
