Had an absolute stinker of a time recently and early this morning my solution was to come out and sit in the back yard to cool off with a pint of beer and a few smokes with my laptop and some music (and PH of course) to have a proper think about things and a chance to chill out a bit. I sometimes feel I could quite happily throttle those who are responsible but really that's not my style and really wouldn't achieve anything, instead I took it out on the brambles growing over the wall from the back with one of my kitchen implements.

What are your solutions for when everything just gets too censored much and does it help .. thanks

Driving is a great reliever of stress, even with the muppets we have to deal with on the roads (it's a challenge!) - I certainly feel better after a good run smile

Lots of ways. The logic bit, as in the why and how I tend to try and find answers to. If I can't i've learned to be able to say and accept to myself that if that's the way it has to be so be it amd then get on with it. I also find that doing something physical is very effective in getting rid of the emotional part, so I ride my bike or go for a walk... anything involving physical displacement. I don't drink though, for two reasons mainly. Firstly I don't want/need a link between alcohol, stress and it as a mental cue to relax and secondly, it dulls the thinking bit and I then feel even less able to do the mental processing bit. Getting physical really helps as does the 'deeper acceptaance' bit of understanding that if it is something I can't do anything about, then I shall adapt around it. I choose not to spend my precious time banging my head against some mad bugger's wall.

A cheaper alternative may be:

A GTR road bike and some good roads huge descends... melts the stress away. smile

Have a dump.

On a more serious note, if you are serious? Then a transfer to health thread will get replies more along the lines of feeling down...

If you have a lower budget, excercise, sex
Higher budget, coke, sex, racing, hooning

Exercise, specifically running, sorts my head out. It gives me time to think away from the distractions of TV/internet/phone/family/friends. Plus I get the endorphin high afterwards thumbup

It depends on what the cause of the stress is, and whether anything can be done about it or not.
