Well its that time, for me thus far:

I've got the Straphpuffer 24 hour mountain bike race on 25/26 Jan 13 in Scotland (Straphpeffer).

Tonight whilst the good lady was watching Eastenders I entered and paid for the Speedo 10k open water swim on 27 May 13 at Eton Dorney - I then booked a hotel there to stay the night before so commited.

Would like to cut out bread (said that last year).

Enter X-Fit Comp for April time.

Over to you.

I'm keen as mustard to get Tough mudder paid for, there is a southern UK event in June.

I have a few concerns though relating to a knee problem, i posted a topic on it yesterday but I'll be gutted if I don't get it booked.

I dropped from 20st to 17st in the last 6 months, I want to drop another 2st or so then I'll be happy with the way I am. I'm already pleased with my progress.

When the weather improves I'll buy a bike and start road cycling.

To increase my lean muscle mass.

I wonder if I should enter a Crossfit competition. I am sure I would win easily as I always injure myself. wink

Already achieved my goals of getting down to 6% BF in 2012. At 5ft 8in and 64kg, going forward I'll add probably no more than 4kg of lean mass but will be stripping BF further down to 5% and just maintain it.

Easy as pie.

to go from 10 lbs to 180 lbs in 6 months then drop to 170 by the end of the year.

Im using Lbs rather than stone and lbs as im bang on 200 at present, which is the heaviest Ive been and earliet this year got just under 13 stone without much efort therefore the medium term goal of 12'12 is back to where I was and then 12'2 is a good target for 12 months.

Reducing beer intake thereby obtaining that last bit of weight-loss that'll make my six-pack visible.

For the rest : a 10K in 40mins.

Be lean at 110-115KG. I'm at 105 but not very lean at the moment (about 15-20% bodyfat).

Increse my weight from my current weight of 13.2 stone to 14 stone
Decrease my body fat from current approx 14% to <10%

The above i think for me are achievable and it is what i will focus on in 2013

Would like to quit smoking/drinking but realistically won't happen - i will look to cut down though

Also, i might, depending how i get on cardio wise, enter 'survival of the fittest 10k' this year and aim to enter tough mudder in 2014. Cardio has never been high on the agenda for me so these would both be a good goal/achievement.

Shamefully, to hit my 2012 resolution which I really believed I'd hit and blew.

It was to lose 5 stone. Did well until a brief blip in May then really well in the summer despite a couple of short holidays and => poor diet/excuses, mainly through 2 a day workouts on a v. regular basis then all thrown away during/after a week away in October and yo-yoing within around half a stone since then.

So now have 3 stone minimum to shift and instead of believing will make myself do it. This will be through more consistent training, an increase in sandbag work/circuits, more leg work/footwork drills, getting back on to the ab/trunk work, the boxing and some weights. Main intention apart from weight loss is extra speed, extra endurance (not bad now really) and maintenance of some strength.

Will vary it and enjoy myself more initially to avoid boredom and keep myself going more regularly then start to periodise and have cycles focussed on strength, muscle mass, speed etc. once the weight is close to target. Then next year (2014) should be more about strength and to see how close I can get to past PBs at 2/3 the weight.

To lose one stone by start of December and hopefully that will bring me down a waist size.

Not a great health goal compared to some on here but a goal none the less !

Good luck all.

Whats the secret behind finding ??

I'm a day into completely giving up nicotine, having given up the daytime fags a few months back. All of this is for the English Indoor Rowing championships at the end of the month where I'm doing the 2k and 500m distances in the "old fat bds" category (>75kg, 40-49 years old). I will get below my 7 minute target on the 2k, and if I've got enough rest between the two distances, then I'll be doing a sub 1m30 500m.

However, giving up smoking, going tea total, sorting out my diet, doing lots of exercise, and not dating at all .... hence a total lack of

God, am I an irritable git at the moment! No nicotine, alcohol, caffeine or sex. However after a few months I'll be a typical PHer - powerfully built, albeit not a company director.
