When you say Forced? By your own conscience? Or in handcuffs?

Hmm, looks like they have changed the criteria for a payout for vaccine damage too. Anyone know if COVID19 would be classified as the Flu (certainly is a pandemic so just need to know if it counts as flu and thus no payment for harm either)

COVID-19 is not the Flu. Totally different virus.

Well I put my money where my mouth is today and had the Oxford vaccine (or the placebo which is a meningitis vaccine). If I don’t post anymore you know I made the wrong decision spin

Uproar that the Chief Scientific Officer reportedly has a 600k holding of Glaxo shares and they are contracted to make the vaccine.

Quite a large holding (how much does he earn?)

But is it a conflict of interest considering most pension funds will hold GSK to some value, and that there is no vaccine?

Given that he worked for GSK in senior roles for some time, he’ll have been given them as part of his overall compensation. It won’t be a surprise.

I was not aware of that, thanks. Not sure that will placate those screaming cronyism etc though

Head of R&D at GSK in 2012 (presumably until he left in 2018). He won’t be short of a bob or two! Can’t say there isn’t cronyism in there, purely because he’ll know people at GSK, but he won’t have been bribed by a large gift of shares in exchange for a contract...

I'll sit on the fence on this one.

I'm certainly not anti-vaccine in principle, I've had many, but I wonder if testing may be a little rushed on this and, as with flu, I'm not convinced any vaccine will actually work particularly well if/as Covid mutates.

The herd immunity argument is possibly valid, but it doesn't seem to apply to flu (we can go around and around on the risk of Covid vs the risk of Flu), so I'm not sure it's totally relevant.

They're doing a phase 3 trial here next week and need 500 volunteers. I've applied.
