To get down from 22% BF to 14% BF I ate the same stuff every single day for 84 days. It was tough for the first two weeks then I got used to it and made the mental note that it wasn't food anymore, just fuel.

It can be done - in fact, if I can do it - anyone can.

The risk being it is easier to fall off the proverbial wagon or lose slowly.

Managed it with liquid cream cake consumption rather than kebabs & a variation of a fasting diet as opposed to daily consumption of filth biggrin
Liquid cream cake?

Well, I think I know what the answer is but whenever you see people wanting to lose, they start eating healthier and cutting out the bad stuff, thinking that it's the bad stuff that is making them fat when the reality is that by cutting out the bad stuff, they're simply eating less than they were. The Kebab Diet is just for sts and giggles.

Do you arrange to have the doner delivered ?

How much are you paying?

I'd rather pay for the kebabs than any linked health problems further down the line. wink

while i would love to be eating two doner kebabs or more a week. i have no idea of how many cals or what % of it is actual protein.

This topic now reminds me of this guy.

http://www.cnn.co.uk/2010/HEALTH/11/08/twinkie.die...

He basically proved that weight loss is a case of how much you eat, not what you eat. and that people who DO eat nothing but junk food could lose weight of they counted up the calories in everything they ate carefully. in order to maintain a deficit.

yes junk foods are still bad for you and offer next to no nutritonal benifits. but there are still many benifits to be made through weight loss..... now if only i knew how many cals is in my locals doner&chips which gets slathered in chilli and curry sauce scratchchin

Good luck with your diet Hoofy you crazy fooooool!

Eating below maintenance should nearly always result in fat loss, its just the body composition that takes a hammering. Here comes the term 'skinny fat'

I would like to say that I'm going to eat cleaner, in order to progress better with lifting weights for fat loss but that's so vague and I'm not sure how well I'd stick to it. I will attempt to cut out all alcohol except for when it comes to social occasions/parties. Fizzy drinks are already out of the question, the time when I do have it it's diet/0 cal versions.

Ultimately I'm looking to shed maybe about 3stone or abit more. Going down from 15 1/2 stone to 12stone and re-asses things from there. Although I'm told with lifting weights the scales aren't what to look at, so comparison pics & a good hard look in the mirror once a month is what it'll have to be. It would be very nice if I could achieve it in 6months (that's a burn rate of 2lbs/week) but who knows. I've not got an issue sweating my arse off in the gym, I'm becoming abit of a sadist and taking pleasure in the DOMS the next day. It's just a case of doing the work and waiting for time to do its work. Here's hoping.

Lager, lager, lager (or these days whiskey & diet pop, brandy & diet pop and vodka & diet pop). Beer based stuff has always been liquid cream cakes & stout would be the king of that - thankfully I hate the stuff.

I would both agree & disagree with you since there are other factors involved such as age, genetic luck, what you're eating etc
I was never a massive eater (although I could and still can do a reasonable Adam Richman impression if desired/demanded) and probably ate more (and definitely drank more) when I was younger @ 14 stone than at hovering around 20. In fact the effort to be around 14 stone now vs the Elvis lifestyle I used to have in my mid 20s at that same weight is a touch scary TBH.

The hardest part for most people is realising that you have a calorie limit that you should eat less than, that little treats/snacks/whatever soon rack up and that apparently healthy food can be bloody awful for you (e.g. certain pasta salads sold as healthy lunches). Plus, moving vigorously every now & again is handy.
I think I've posted my Bad Santa diet and my better (but patently not) one before and the latter wouldn't be considered catastrophic to most people, even though it ultimately was.

I love the concept of your diet but I wouldn't smile I look forward to the scientific results smile

I lost 30lbs back half of 2012 through less calories, more exercise and better choices with my better awareness of calories, haven't cut anything out particularly still eat out and eat what I enjoy just better choices and portions.

It's not rocket science and am probably the lightest I have been for 15years, the issue now Is I have a very small selection of fitting clothes, but that's a good problem to have.

Good luck with your diet.

Ah, never heard of them being called liquid cream cakes. biggrin

The problem is that people think healthy eating and eating to lose weight are the same thing. It's as simple as that. And then people get confused when they eat a lot of healthy food (nothing wrong with pasta salads - just that they have a lot of calories which is fine if you are still on a deficit).

I've spent the last year eating healthy and unhealthy food (from salads to weekly fish and chips, pies, sponge puddings etc) and lost weight. Maybe 70% of my calories came from fattening foods. So either I've defied the laws of physics or...

Try my diet. Go on!

As for dieting in general, it's not difficult. It's just about willpower, discipline and determination.

Firstly, I'm not dieting next year. I am bulking.

So you lost weight eating the same but less food? Good. That's what I want to hear.

In 18 months you could make absolutely startling changes to not just your body but also your health with exercise and diet.

Have a look at what is possible in far shorter periods of time; http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=140...

Interesting link. I've been considering calorie cycling rather than just eating more calories all the time for my bulking.

How many calories in the kebab?

Also , would it not be better to have the doner for breakfast?
Having the only single calorific mean before bed time is pretty pointless isn't it?

~1000 IIRC.

A doner for breakfast? You sick puppy.

Why's eating a large dinner 3 hours before bed time an issue? You're not one of those "don't eat after 7pm Christian Yoghurt Global Warming Weavers" are you? biggrin
