Hi JABB, (very) luckily I don't need any kind of aid, pretty much learnt to deal with it as is, not a big loss, just frustrated at how it occurred.

eta as i am sure you know well digital hearing aids are technologically advanced and can help in many scenarios hese days. . .albeit expensive!!

I always get water stuck in my ears – in fact I think I have some in my left ear now.

The only way I can get it out is going to docs and them syringing it.

Lying on my side, cotton bud etc does not work. What happens is that wax builds up inside your ear, water passes through it but for whatever reason, can’t get back out. I assume once the water passes it, maybe it aggravates your ear which then produces more wax? When I’ve tried those drops, it just makes it worse and stays behind the wax.

Around 3-4 times a year when I’m digging around with a cotton bud or 10, I manage to collar the biggest, blackest pieces of wax you’ve ever seen. It may sound gross, but it’s a pretty awesome feeling getting the titanic-sinking sized bds out.

I’m going to the docs tomorrow for unrelated issues but I’ll get him to check inside my lug holes to see if there’s a build up at all.

Here’s a question for you all… if you use the middle knuckle on your index finger and apply pressure just in front of your ear (ear canal) and wriggle about, do you get a weird water squelching noise/feeling? I wanna know if it’s just me.

No knuckles . . . No nothing in there!
