6'4'' and 12st10lb. I excercise most days and don't eat to excess. I heard that the best way to lose weight is High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). It is more effective than prolonged consistent movement like running. It involves 10-15 seconds of intense work, followed by 15-20 seconds rest. Do that and your fat will fly off
Are you a skinny person with a small frame (width wise) I could never see myself just under 13st I think if I did not eat for a 3 months I would not get there .....

15 1/2 is my ideal weight, but If I go back to muscle training that weight is really irrelevant I suppose

I am trying to lose the 1" or so of fat around my middle.

I have a 2 pack! The bottom 4 are shrouded in fat.
Hey I'm 6'3" and 13stone10 and also had exactly the same problem. I do a 2 day split and run 6kms twice a week.

I cut out all the st: no fries, dessert, fatty sauces, very little alcohol etc

That was beginning of june and low and behold that irritating little bump has gone. And no I don't feel miserable at all for not eating st. An icecream or something like that once a week ats as a welcome treat.

Eat a few small meals a day( small but proper meals not snacks) Breakfast lunch and dinner.

Join a gym, get an active hobby ( kick boxing, swimming, running something) if you sit on your arse all day you wont help.

Dead lift, Squat and Bench press essential. all the rest are extra but cant hurt.

I've got an average sized frame, I'm very lean as I play a lot of sport, and I've got long arms and legs. I curl 14 kg dumb bells and chest press 22kg either side (3x8 reps).

I'm 5'11" and 10st7, very lean as I'm a distance runner. My attitude to eating is to do more exercise and eat/drink what I like. thumbup

im trying to lose weight,

Step 1. Started going swimming twice a week.
Step 2. Started eating breakfast.
Step 3. Started eating a Bowl of soup for lunch instead of a full heavy meal. (soup is good as it fills you up)
Step 4. Started eating more Fruit and Veg for my evening meal instead of takeaways and packet meals

But i cant stop snacking on crap food (chocolate etc) i just crave it all the time. And end up caving in.

You need to account for everything, literally everything! If you miss a few things off each day it could, before you even realise amount to 3-400 calories, and all of a sudden you are no where near where you should be.

I have to say though, 1500 for someone of your size & weight is probably too low. Your body will go into starvation mode and store everything it can as fat.

I would be aiming around the 2k mark of a balanced diet, with the calories spread out far more evenly throughout the day rather than a big evening meal.

Couple this with some decent gym time and it will start falling off you smile

I'm 6ft2" and 12st9lb. Started the year off at 14st dead. I have seemingly plateaued now, i'm not so bothered about the weight, i'm aiming more at toning up and reducing fat content than becoming a stick insect.

Whats your Squat and dead Lift?

Curling is not a good measurement, and your Bench should be more.

6 foot dead... and about 20 stone. (the proverbial "brick st house" with a 54" chest/ 40 waist)

My problem is I tend not eat breakfast or lunch, then get home from work have tea and chill out. I have a very active job walking about 10+ miles a day (stop-starting) since starting the job about 8 months ago I've lost something like 2 stone.

Signed up to a Gym last week (was gutted i was working away this week) so looking forward to hitting that hard. I'm very active at the weekends, and not your typical fatty. (can easliy out sprint 90% of my team mates)

Need to get my food right now, just a shame i like most the things that are bad for me (booze not being one of them)

As a skinny runner type (see above), when doing my weights I bench 40kg, deadlift 30kg and squat 70kg for 3 sets of 8 reps. We've attempted to optimise the weights for strength without building bulk so I'm not maxing out on any of the efforts, but doing the reps pretty quickly.

5`7, 13stone 4.

As said, you need to hit the gym really, diet will make a difference, but the body is so good at addapting you can stall very easily, drop the calories too much, and you`ll loose nothing.

You probably reduced your bodyfat percentage last time.

There's a difference between losing weight and losing fat. If you work hard in the gym you're more likely to lose fat but replace it with muscle mass, so overall weight won't change much. If you don't work quite so intensively, you'll burn the fat but not break down the muscle fibres (and hence the body won't over-compensate when rebuilding them) so you'll see a loss of weight.

Nothing wrong with snacking as long as its on the right stuff. Try taking in fruit, houmous and carrot sticks, homemade cereal bars (I'll post recipe in the food forum) etc.
