Working nights since Saturday which for me means I don't eat properly, tend to have one or two meals a day. Just weighed myself, 88.6kg.
A mate has entered me in a Tough Mudder in either June or July which despite my reluctance to do it gives me something to aim for weight and fitness wise.

Well done everyone. Just been questioned why mu lunch was the size of a pack of crisps! smile

Some key points:
1) It is good to be hungry
2) We are not going to suffer from eating less
3) Drink more water
4) Going to bed hungry is more positive than going with full stomach
5) Being hungry is good, it means you are not adding weight
6) Try to eat to 75% of your stomach, leave some room for some water and to help your digestive system
7) Women like healthy men
8) Women like wheepspins and loud stereos
9) Being attractive is good for self esteem, well being and the wife (keeps her on her toes)
10) Yes it is hard, but so is everything else
11) Yes it does hurt but it is more mental than physical.

...and waits to be berated...

Some key points:
1) It is good to be hungry depends how hungry
2) We are not going to suffer from eating less true within reason
3) Drink more water agreed
4) Going to bed hungry is more positive than going with full stomach define positive?
5) Being hungry is good, it means you are not adding weight true, but health cannot be boiled down to weight alone
6) Try to eat to 75% of your stomach, leave some room for some water and to help your digestive system fair argument
7) Women like healthy men they do
8) Women like wheepspins and loud stereos the best ones need more impressing than that wink - also a shade off topic!
9) Being attractive is good for self esteem, well being and the wife (keeps her on her toes) true, true and I bet she loves that....
10) Yes it is hard, but so is everything else yep
11) Yes it does hurt but it is more mental than physical yep - but it can be done pain free .

...and waits to be berated...
Some fair points, but I still don't believe starvation is the route to happiness I am afraid!

ASIR, some good points but I have my own take smile

AndStilliRise said:

Some key points:
1) It is good to be hungry - Its good to know the feeling of hunger although if eating to a structured plan (little and often) you should'nt be feeling properly hungry
2) We are not going to suffer from eating less - Agreed, the bigger risk is from eating more smile
3) Drink more water - Also agreed, good appetite suppresant and aids digestion
4) Going to bed hungry is more positive than going with full stomach - Disagree, sleep is prime time for recovery, I would argue having food and nutrients available for that process is better smile
5) Being hungry is good, it means you are not adding weight - 'At that time' theres always a risk of overeating from being hungry and actually adding weight....
6) Try to eat to 75% of your stomach, leave some room for some water and to help your digestive system - Agreed smile
7) Women like healthy men - Cant argue this smile
8) Women like wheepspins and loud stereos
9) Being attractive is good for self esteem, well being and the wife (keeps her on her toes)
10) Yes it is hard, but so is everything else
11) Yes it does hurt but it is more mental than physical.

I suppose that sort of exercise will help weight loss, but unless it's a very heavy yo-yo, it won't really build muscle.....

15 st 6.0, now lower than pre Christmas weight.

My original 15 st target is hoving in to view, wont be low enough, cant imagine another six pounds will do it, will just keep going until I feel I am at the right weight, then aim to maintain that.

108.1kg on Jan 9, which is when we started (the Missus is on board too)

106.2kg this morning (Jan 16), so things are moving in the right direction.

Is it too late to be added to the list?

We're currently off the booze (recommended!), both sacked smoking around Dec 20, and as of this week we're making concious changes to our diet. This may or may not have coincided with me eating the last of the Xmas chocolate.

All good so far. We have the incentive of a summer trip to Australia so want to look as good asmpossible for friends and family over there. Being off the booze has meant better sleeping patterns and (unsurprisingly) improved energy levels in the mornings.

Morning weigh in and I'm finally in the 90 bracket. 90.4kg this morning. Very keen to get under 90 but this is the last where I've always struggled. Have always been 90-92 for as long as I can remember.

Special mention for my missus, she has lost over 2 1/2 stone and has gone from a "Barrel" (her description, not mine) to a pretty svelte gym enthusiast, she reckons on having half a stone to go.

The hunger one is a really interesting point. Whenever I realise I'm putting on weight and start to watch what I eat, I feel hungry. This then reminds me that during my "getting tubbier" times, I rarely feel hungry. Never feeling hunger isn't natural. Obviously going to extremes isn't good. I would say 5) Never being hungry is bad.

Anyway, a day late since I was offline yesterday, but my weigh in was 76.1 kg as of this morning. Heading in the right direction, and getting better at eating more on exercise days, eating less on rest days and keeping it all as good as possible. That said, I had a cheat meal on Friday night which came in at a whopping 1650 cals on its own and my first pizza of 2017 (pizza is my biggest vice, I would say) yesterday, which was 900 cal as a lunch. Time to refocus on the long term goal.

Exercise-wise, I've continued doing the Joe Wicks HIIT sessions from youtube. Whatever you think of the guy, there's no escaping the fact the sessions are pretty comprehensive body workouts and if you put the effort in, bloody hard work. I could barely speak after last nights, and was on an endorphin high afterwards. No more late night circuits for me!

I still eat fairly big meals but with bigger gaps between them, big bowl of Spag Bol last night (no seconds, no garlic bread nowadays though) having been to the gym, that was at seven, just had the remainder now at noon, was ravenous but had gone 17 hours since last time I ate, I cycled in as well.

It is too easy for us to, the minute we feel hungry, just eat whatever is available to make it go away but really, it isnt the end of the world, I am fuelled and ready now until about 6.30/7pm, may have some nuts and a tangerine before my ride home if I feel like I need them.

You get to feel what, and how much your body needs a bit more, a bit more tuned in and you come to realise that sugar/high carb stuff just ends up making you hungrier than if you didnt bother.

I like to go to bed thinking "that was a good day" and wondering what the scales will say in the morning, that has become my motivation, so I think when making that 11:30PM fridge raid that it may bias the mornings reading so perhaps dont have it, then you go to bed a bit hungry, then wake up and guess what, you arent hungry, try a brew first, might just need fluids.

I find it is all about using these little quirks, like the waking up not hungry, like waiting a while after eating etc etc that make the difference and I dont feel like I am on a diet as that used to drive me mad, it needs to be a permanent mindset.

Another 1lb off last week, so on 14/01 was 67.47kg.

Always dubious about only losing 1lb since your body fluctuates so much during the day anyway...
Prob shouldn't type this at lunch but I once did a before & after poo weigh-in and it was 2lb... hence my natural aversion to gleefully stating I lost a whole 1lb, but hey... the weight seems to be going from where I want and I'm eating healthily - definitely not starving.

Well done all the "losers" so far - keep going smile

We have lost 2.6% on average so far.

That's 75 kg overall - or Smitters!

We still collectively weigh above 4 tonnes, but I reckon by the end of the month we'll be starting with a 3.

Weigh time at the Gym this evening.. down to 91.75 kg.

No major lifestyle changes apart from Dry January, not eating after 6pm and getting back to alternate days in the gym.
A big shift in sleeping though, going to bed at 10 and awake at 5.30. Feeling tired most of the time too.
