Just too expensive now do going to try the myprotein. Would try the savoury but no samples so not going to commit to a load. Few people who also have it are moving away too - think they might plateau soon ,has grown massively!

Vanilla Shakes - taste ok

Sweet & Sour - disgusting. It's like a sludge with bits in it. Horrible. Horrible texture. Poor taste.

Have I made it wrong?

Hurl not Huel.

I had Huel 1 for a few months - was utterly miserable but lost weight.

Tried Huel 2 two years ago and reacted strangely to it - was producing loads of strongly clear phlegm so binned it.

Would potentially look at alternatives...

Just ordered some of the Black in Banana flavour. Will report back.

Also looking for alternatives with high protein mixtures, that are fairly low carbohydrate as well.

Got to say I absolutely love the Coffee Caramel Black powder mixed with a 100ml coconut milk.

The Huel chocolate & orange bars arn't bad either.

Did not get on with the Thai curry thing though.

Got 4 bags of huel hot n savoury on order. My first order from them.

Really to just replace the ready meals and pot noodles when on the backshift at work.

I tried the Korma flavoured meal substitute last night; it was utterly vile & I threw most of it away. I'm hoping the Thai & Sweet & Sour are better as otherwise I've wasted £55.

You've got me worried.

Opted for 2 x green thai curry, 1 x madras and 1 x chilli.

I tried the Green Thai tonight; much better. Not fantastic mind but I will at least get to finish the bag. Here's hoping the Sweet & Sour is edible.

The Hot Huel is, for me, a swing and a miss from them. I get the concept - kind of a healthy Pot Noodle - but the reality is disappointing. I'm very much liking the Black Salted Caramel and Coffee Caramel though. The Coffee Caramel has a slight twang of a weird aftertaste, but it doesn't put me off.

Hot Huel so far:

Thai - good
Madras - good
Korma - ok
Tomato - no thanks
Chilli - no thanks

I'll finish the ones I like and go back to the cold stuff.

If I ever end up going back to the office I'll use the hot ones there though.

Have temporarily took the huff with Huel as they now don’t offer me free postage and next day delivery, didn’t even email “remote” living people of this change.

I will never buy from Huel again following the abysmal Hot Huel products:

The marketing:

The reality:

The taste is even worse than the appearance & I now know why they don't do trial packs. OK they got £55 out of me but I'll never spend another penny with them & I'll do my best to make sure to promote alternative suppliers whenever I can.

I don't think you would eat anything at all if you expected it to look like the advertising picture. Food advertising is a joke.

I could put up with the look but I find the taste of all three varieties I tried most unpleasant - I couldn't finish the pot.

Got a bag of Whole Fuel Blend by MyProtein to see if there is a better/cheaper alternative. See what that tastes like lol.

I've had the thai curry, madras and chilli versions and for that they are - a posh pot noodle - i think they're nice.

Great for the canteen that has limited cooking options. Wouldn't have it in the house.

Was looking at their shakes but they look too expensive IMO. I can save a 3rd per portion and only loss a few grams of protein with their competitors. They do have a slick website though and advertising campaign so can see how they are attracting customers even at their mentally high prices.
