2.5lbs (1.1kg) lost this week - that's the 5st mark for me! A total of 5st 0.5lbs (32kg) gone in total!
Great work, Funk, you're smashing this... Another two pounds loss for me this week, going through a steady eddie kind of period at the moment. A loss is a loss though; my eating wasn't great this week to be honest which has undone a lot of the good stuff that four successive days of 6 mile walks would have done.... . I should add though that although my loss is slowing down, I have lost in 28 out of 31 weeks and recently, I've started to really notice the difference in my clothes and also many more people are beginning to comment, which for me is the best part of all this. (speaking as someone with low self esteem!).
That said, and as I always say, I'd have settled for losing what I have (4 stone 3 pounds in 31 weeks) anyway so even small losses are celebrated wildly as every ounce I lose is an ounce closer to target. On Monday night, went out on a walk with the organiser of the charity event in August and it's really revved me up to be in the best possible shape to complete it. Helped that the other girl that walked with us that night was a stunner!!

I know I shouldn't but I weigh myself twice a week, once on a Sunday (for weigh in day) and once on Wednesday/Thursday to give myself an idea of where I'm going to be on the Sunday.
Normally, mid week, I'm around where I was the previous Sunday, which points at a loss week on week.
This week, not only am I not at the same or less than I was, I'm actually miles up! Sunday was 82.8kg, this morning, 84.3kg. Weird really, as I've still got a cold and still haven't been eating as much as normal but I did manage to get myself to the gym on Tuesday. Very odd. Either way, it's not looking like a good week for me.

Don't worry about the plateaus, they're just a thing that happens - I feel like I've been stuck in the 22st range for a while but I know that I'm doing all the right things and eventually I'll get into the 21s. I'm actually not too fixated on absolute loss though as I'm absolutely on it at the gym now (5x 06:30 sessions M-F, 2x evening (Tues & Thurs) and Saturday at some stage during the morning for a couple of hours) and there's a lot of weight-work in there.
It sounds like you're also doing all the right things; it'll all pay off eventually!

I've always weighed myself daily, first thing in the morning. Have never understood the logic behind less regular weigh-ins.If you have a variable with a trend component and a random component, having fewer datapoints doesn't help you discern the trend. The daily "random" fluctuations (e.g changes in water weight) can be bigger (±1kg) than the weekly loss.
Psychologically, I would find it frustrating to have a weekly weigh-in come in "high" and feel like a whole week had achieved nothing and I had to wait a whole 7 days to see any progress again. Whereas if a single day comes in "high", that's no trouble, as the chances are that tomorrow or the next day will show a lower number.
Your mileage may vary.
Hopefully I am not going to jinx myself here... I've been eating less and moving more at the fine age of 31 - is it really that simple?
I can't believe it's taken me this long - cals in v cals out. I've been walking more and bought an exercise bike for 95 quid - eating around 2,400 and my apple watch is telling me I am burning around 3,200 each day.
No crazy diet, still having chocolate and eating normally - just all in moderation now.
Was 92.8Kg, now 90Kg.

That's about it, with the caveat that what you eat should be colourful, varied and minimally processed.I can't believe it's taken me this long - cals in v cals out. weigh in day today. Now down a total of 5.3kg in one calendar month.
Find this 5:2 really quite easy and it seems to be having positive effects. Very slow and steady progress which is the name of the game.
Try the 2:5 - strict during the working week then let your hair down at the weekends!Find this 5:2 really quite easy and it seems to be having positive effects. Very slow and steady progress which is the name of the game.
Had a week’s ski holiday, so went up from 62kg to 65kg
However my body fat scales, which I know aren’t that accurate, are saying an increase of 2kg muscle mass, and body fat has gone down from 21% to 20%, so may not be just the beer, dumplings and chips
Back on to calorie tracking and deficit now.

I was actually happy and disappointed at the same time time this morning.
Weighed in at 239, so that’s 15lb since 03/01/20. Happy with that. I was 237 in the week, but the wife came home early last night after 10 days away.
(As I posted earlier my Mrs works away 11 days at a time and I’m sort of feast or famine depending on if she is home)
Anyway the half bottle of wine and snacks we shared on the couch probably helped with the 2lb gain since the mid week weigh in.
Off to a lodge for a weeks holiday next week so hopefully get lots of walking in then a week in Spain (with work) where my choice for food are not my own so time to be strict again.

Sorry, are you saying you haven’t eaten any food for 5 days?
Not one calorie. I get intermittent fasting, but I definitely would not be able to handle 5 days with no solids.

However my main aim is to see if I can affect an auto-immune disease I've had for 12 years, there is clinical evidence now that this can be done. Mine is quite a rare one and I don't think any studies have covered it so I thought I'd have a bash myself.
I have regular check ups and after some minor fasting last year my bloods did improve. This year I intend to hit it hard and see if there is a connection or it was just coincidence.
You would be able to handle it, unless you have an ongoing issue any adult in reasonable health can go without food for at least a week.
My job is very physical and apart from a couple of wobbles I've been fine this week, I worked out two evenings as well.
Down to 229 pounds today, aiming for 228 next week.
Not going mad, had takeaway tonight, no booze though, spent all day outside, have walked 5 miles, watch says have used over 3000 calories so even with the probably 1000 to 1500 cals of crap earlier, still probably in deficit, working on 2000 or less a day usually.
At the gym on Thurs, Friday and Tomorrow.
I didnt eat until about one yesterday, had a large bowl of porridge, ate at about 7.30 and still wasnt exactly hungry, amazing how filling it can be, porridge is awesome.
