At the last gym I went to a lad squeezed past my bench pressing bench to get his water bottle off the windowsill and bodged the 120kg barbell I was pressing. Luckily I had the safety pins in and I could put it down. It's still annoying when you fail a lift and end up having to strip the bar to get it back on the rack to have another go.
Beautiful. He could quite easily have caused you to tear up your shoulder.

I have just started going to a pure gym, 60% of people don't put the weights back, luckily there is loads of plates otherwise it would be a nightmare. The dumbbell section is a mess, never in order and always at least 5-10 scattered around on the floor.

The lack of people telling these adults to clean up after themselves means not many of them do!

I must say the worse offenders are young lads under the age of 25.

I always used to decry this when other people said it, but after spending a good few years in commercial gyms, there is undoubtedly a high gym-ahole correlation.

The PTs in my pure work tirelessly to try and keep the DB section in order, also to kep the plates sorted, they have to be on it pretty much non-stop. MYself I always out all weights away...my passive-aggressive reach wizard level in the gym. hehe

i think the problem is their mothers aren't there to clean up after them. I've told so many to put weights away I've given up.

Ditto at my PureGym.

The manager does a really good job of keeping on top of it.

I'm the same as you, it's not the first time I've pointed pointed it out to some arrogant twit.

Personally, I'd be handing out bans for it, if I was the manager. Ditto the arsewipes who park in the disabled spaces out of arrogance.

I like Pure Gyms, though, despite that. Good selection of dumbbells, racks and some useful machines.

These will be the same people who leave wet towels, empty shampoo bottles and worse (recent examples: clumps of trimmed pubes, razor cartridge, plasters, chewing gum) in the showers.

It's not just the youngsters though; in my gym, somebody keeps leaving heavy (40kg+) dumbbells out. That's likely to be someone over 30.

laugh yes! I'd ban repeat offenders, plus automatic ban for disabled spot users, and for those that park in bits where you're not meant to so you have to squeeze past the motor to get to the door, as well as those that drive the wrong way around the 1w system in the carpark...ooooo I'd be a NAZI in charge. THat sort of stuff can only be done in a personally owned gym though, not a chain sadly.

Aye, as with most things, not all PureGyms are equal.

The staff and management make or break it, at the risk of stating the obvious.

Aye. I was thinking of a jump to xercise4less in the middle of town...ahole parking, but they had huge slection of kbs, plys heavy bags, plus a ring and cage...but then my pure (which is 8mins away) upgraded kit...and frankly I'm only missing the bags now....so it's kit and managership are both good.

Having said that, I was looking at a crossfit gym last night, they don't pout prices up though, £50 a month seems average which is toomuch at the moment. I might see if the local boxing gym is affordable for bag work.

Recent one for me.

Bloke who, I presume, has some form of OCD which means he takes between 20-30 minutes to have a shower. Also noisily blows his nose in there too.

It's tts like that who ruin it for the rest of us.

Last time he was in there my mate loudly commented about 'the selfish bd being in the shower for hours'. hehe

If the manager catches them leaving stuff out he bans them instantly! At pure all they do is disable their pin!

Hmmm. Not sure that’ll be permitted under the contract. Funny, though.

I don't suppose anyone knows why these kids drink so much water? Some ad campaign/posters in the gym suggesting you have to over-hydrate to lift weights? None in mine but they guzzle the damn stuff.

I gave up with the 'The Gym' near me in Bracknell. Always too busy, with everyone doing chest press or bicep curls in the mirrors. Weights everywhere, and most people sat on their phones hogging equipment.

Finally got fed-up with meathead tts wandering around like they own the place.

I almost always work out at home so quite enjoy commercial gyms. Loads of different equipment, and almost everyone is weak as piss, even the muscular guys in vests. Makes me feel strong.
