My wife Called ambulance again this morning as I was totally exhausted. Ended up being admitted for an overnight stay - chest X-ray shows viral infection so they want to keep my oxygen levels up.
Been on a drip and had iv antibiotics etc.
Two firsts in one day - first ambulance ride, first night in hospital
It’s truly the gift that keeps on giving...
Horrible

I'm glad you're on the mend OP.
Apologies if I missed it in the thread … but did you get results of the test?
Take care.
No, you’ve not missed it. They discharged me before the results were back. I think I need to call them to get the results, but they weren’t really putting to much importance into it - got the distinct impression they didn’t trust the accuracy...Apologies if I missed it in the thread … but did you get results of the test?

They told me my Chest X-ray showed definite signs of a COVID chest whatever that is!
Had a good day yesterday - managed to stay awake all day, but did need 30 minute lie down after shave (first in several days) and shower - exhausting!
Managed to spend a couple of 30 minute sessions sat in the garden enjoying the sunshine and the almost total silence. We live in a quiet village, but there is always a background hum from M40. Not at the moment! You can hear a single bumble bee make its way round the entire garden - amazing.
I’m eating pretty well, having lost best part of 1.5 stones in just over two weeks! My taste buds (and sense of smell) seem to be back to normal thankfully.
Main ongoing issue is shortness of breath. My lung capacity seems very compromised, and I can’t take a big breath without coughing. Need to talk to GP I think to see what to do.
This makes me nervous about getting back to work (from home) - no way could I last out on a conference call. We all had to take the Easter week as holiday anyway before this kicked off, so I’ve got another week for things to improve.
I’d also really, really like to go for a drive. I’ve always used a solo drive for thinking time and space but know I can’t at the moment.
My wife has been amazing through all of this. We can’t understand how she didn’t develop CV19 but are massively thankful she didn’t.
To have both of you come down with it must be awful... like our next door neighbours have had...
He’s had it much worse than her, with the terrible fever, hallucinations and exhaustion. When my wife fetched me from hospital, within two minutes an Ambulance stopped outside... it was the same crew that had taken me in. They’d been tasked to see my neighbour but thought I’d relapsed again! They didn’t need to take him in luckily, so fingers crossed he’s on the mend.
I guess the last thing to say for now is how emotional this has been. There were times before I was admitted that I genuinely wondered whether I should be writing stuff down for family. Awful.
I still feel very emotionally wobbly and I suspect at some point I’ll end up having a big cry!
If anyone is going through the CV19 ‘process’, I wish you the very, very best. It ain’t gonna be fun, but for the massive majority of us it is beatable.
Sorry for waffling on and on...

This pretty much follows the same pattern as my pals, except they both caught it symptoms starting on the same day. They told me my Chest X-ray showed definite signs of a COVID chest whatever that is!

Feeling better 1 week in then a relapse, medics out around the 12-14 day mark, no hospitalisation but a slow recovery. They're now about 28 days in, after a couple of false starts they're getting back to eating. Similar weight loss 1.5 stone.
I've just heard my cousin has started......
Interesting that the NEC, has been set up for recovering patients. Guessing this was the problem in Italy, recovering patients blocking facilities for critical cases.

Glad you are on the mend. How did your symptoms start and how long until they got worse?
On Monday I had bad back ache, Tuesday it got worse and other limbs ached, Tuesday night woke up sweating and been fine since, Wednesday felt a bit off and how today ache and feel a little breathless. Think I’ve got it but don’t know if/when I will go downhill more!

My symptoms started on the Monday. Was already WFH, and just felt a bit shivery. By the evening I felt really tired and went to bed early. Next day felt absolutely rubbish, with the start of the fever. It just got worse. And worse. Was about a week before first Paramedic visit, and things continued to get worse. That’s basically where this thread started! On Monday I had bad back ache, Tuesday it got worse and other limbs ached, Tuesday night woke up sweating and been fine since, Wednesday felt a bit off and how today ache and feel a little breathless. Let’s hope you don’t have it, or have a mild form - clearly there is not just one set of symptoms and timing. Drink loads, and DO NOT be worried to call 111 or 999 if you feel you need to... they are amazing
