It's not THAT bold an assertion, imo.
I agree. He went balls to the wall to become the strongest in a very competitive field. It would not surprise me if (assuming we could come up with an objective measure and good statistics on each candidate) he was right up there. Once strongman became a PED arms race, though, it was inevitable that we would see some of the strongest men ever. The sheer bulk of the guys is mind-blowing.

strongest man EVA! is worse than in history, at least in history an argument can be made.Once strongman became a PED arms race, though, it was inevitable that we would see some of the strongest men ever. The sheer bulk of the guys is mind-blowing.

I doubt it. The strongest man ever will almost certainly have existed since the steroid era began, you would think. You cannot rule out an absolute genetic freak, but it seems unlikely. TheJimi said:
fk me, Hal. Since when did you become a pedant?
Since I started talking to Ord. But really, the 'ever' tag-line is just the stupidest thing ever!!, not even getting into how grammatically incorrect it is, it's just pure hyperbole.
But those who write articles don't like using, 'in recorded history.'
I'm just tired of seeing umpteen 'best whatever ever' stuff.

I am struggling to think how someone in prehistory could have got to a 500kg deadlift. But really, the 'ever' tag-line is just the stupidest thing ever!!, not even getting into how grammatically incorrect it is, it's just pure hyperbole.

Deadlift singles up to 230kg. Not my current max (around 250kg atm - 275kg is my all time) but it wasn't easy! This shouldn't be hard for me and it upsets me that it is! 20kg of bodyweight loss isn't good for strength!
Followed by some volume 3 X 10 at 185kg
Pendlay row 4 X 8 at 120kg
One arm row 4 X 8 at 50kg
China 3 X 8 bodyweight

Sunday was deadlifts up to 210 kg, bent rows 170kg sets of 6, flat bench up to 150kg, dumbbell shoulder press up to 40kg sets of 8,
Today, finished off back and chest, seated cable pull, stack 2x15 reps, preacher curls up to 25kg per side ez bar, sets of 8, incline flys up to 44kg sets of 6, rope push downs for tris, very slow light weight sets of 6 and done. Really busy just now so just popping in for half hour or so heavyish sets to tick over. Really missing cardio

I ask in here rather than start a new thread but is there a decent workout that can be completed at home to build some upper body shape / definition using just a set of dumbells?
Any link or suggestions?
How heavy are they?Any link or suggestions?
If you could get a pull up bar then you could build a calisthenics routine, but without a pull up bar you would struggle IMO.
Diet always plays a big part in looking toned.

On holiday still, so going out on the bike every day but just for an hour, very hilly though so getting a really good workout, also thrown in a mountain walk yesterday, calves still burning. Loving the cv fitness aspect, really emphasizes that chasing big numbers in the gym is maybe not the the be all and end all.
