Love the photo! So I managed to stay awake till 9 (that's a big part of wanting to change my routine) and although I'm awake now , feel quite enigised , in fact I've found my cv and will be updating tomorrow
I have helped many people with CV's on here and have developed a very good template over the years. If you want me to have a look over yours and offer feedback or to send you the template just drop me a message.Robster said:

Well the bad news is I'm still awake , the good news I'm being proactive and doing my cv! Will send it over to you Craigjm to have a look at if that's ok
Thing is, if you're awake and doing something constructive, it's not the same as being awake and at a loose end wishing you could sleep and worrying about stuff.I know it's not ideal but sometimes that's how the mind works.
This is, indeed, an uplifting thread and it's amazing to see the lengths some people have gone to to help Rob out, from those who have posted advice and details of their own experiences right through to those who have actually turned up in person and helped Rob have a brilliant day out. And of course Rob himself for seizing the opportunity and helping himself out of a deep hole. Quite incredible stuff and some quite amazing people have shown themselves here.
So update , feeling good today , although I was awake from 10pm to 9am I managed to sleep till 1pm , woke up naturally and instead of staying in bed I sent my cv off to Craig (thanks for the help) and enrolled online for cbt online couselling session/treatment, yesterday was so good for me I can not thank Barny and co enough, in fact thanks for all the kind words on this thread, I'm aware my feelings may go up and down so I have decided to bank the good times and keep updating here

That last sentence is key. Realising you will still have bad days, it's just part of the illness and doesn't mean you have failed, but they do get less and less frequent as recovery continues. Robster said:

Retail managerment
Ah ok. Was hoping you said IT. I know a couple of companies looking in your neck of the woods. My cousin is in retail, senior manager level. I'll see if he knows of anything in and around Surrey.
Have a google for NUS connect. Look at jobs in student unions, every student union has a retail part to the business that makes profit to support the charitable side. So bars, shops, coffee shops, cafe's etc. That all needs management. This is what my wife does.
They don't pay top wages compared to other industry, but The obvious big benefits are there's not loads of weekend work like there is in most retail and the working hours can be very favourable. Both for getting back into work but also balancing work with kids which might be very important to you trying to gain access back to yours. My wife gets core hours, then flexi time and the ability to build up time off in lieu etc. If you had a depressive day then a phone call to use lieu time and you don't add to your troubles feeling like you are taking the piss on the sick.
Anyway, just a thought, might be ideal for you.
