I know this is around BMI but I found this interesting.

I posted that earlier in the thread but it was roundly poo-pood as being meaningless because apparently BMI isn't used as a measure anymore.
Sorry mate I missed that.

BMI is a very broad catch all, it does work to a point but its pretty clumsy, it doesnt account for anyone more muscular so it says body builders are obese, but for the bulk of the population it gives a good indication.

I like seeing data too.

Thats a big sad face next to your sleep, did you feel that it was very bad?
Didn't think it was bad, just restless like normal, maybe the perception of my sleep pattern will change as it records, and not compare it to others?

That screen shot is a small percentage of.what it monitors.

Weigh in no.3; 5.9kg loss in 3 weeks, to say I'm pleased is an understatement:

(boxers on this time!)

Not looking noticeably slimmer but I do feel a bit lighter, however I might just feel better generally as I'm not drinking and have of course lost almost a stone, my belts have gone down a notch and are getting very close to another notch and my jeans/trousers don't need as big a suck in of the belly when doing up, I can always tell visually when I have lost weight though by a little crease on my side, halfway down, this has almost gone.

I took a "before" picture on the 15th (I did take one on the 1st but it seems to have done a disappearing act), so it will be interesting to compare a month down the line.

I use the same app., the graph above shows most of it was light sleep hence 'very bad'.

Last night I slept for 8h 49m, 3h 44m was deep sleep, 5h 3m was light sleep = a 'Very Good Sleep'.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and kept on track!
I weighed this morning as it's my birthday today so will be going out for a meal tonight. Will try having a good meal and try to keep on track as much as possible.

Another 1.8kg off today bringing the total to 3.1kg. More than happy with that!

Eating less and not snacking is starting to feel 'normal' now too and the cravings are much less!

Have a good week, everyone!

So Monday update for start of Week Four: 87.6kg (3.0kg loss since 01/01/2019)

Had a much better Week Three, managed to get to the gym every evening after work Monday to Friday so in total 25km rowed and 25km cycled over the week with me feeling better and faster. I've got certain time targets set so once I hit them (consistently over a week) I'll up the rowing distance and cycling intensity so I'm always pushing myself a little bit (but never to the limit to reduce chance of injury or "taking a day off the gym to recover"!!)

My belt is feeling much looser and I'm feeling much fitter and better overall

Minor bad point (I'm downgrading it from a Major bad point) is that I had a good quality pizza on Sunday but I've averaged a 1kg loss each week so I'm going to beat myself up too much about it but from fitness and financial perspective I really need to cut Deliveroos out! laugh

Something I'm working on, in addition to losing weight, is getting better sleep.

Quantity has always been not great but quality has been downright terrible. 'Highlight' of December was a night of nearly 7hrs sleep with just 47mins being deep.

Had a cider on Friday night & a few on Saturday night, RedBull mid-afternoon & Chinese takeaway at night on Sunday. All kept within calorie limits, macros not so good but not so bad either.

Zero gym sessions due to other things on and being away from home.

Start of an interesting week, have a work related dinner on Tuesday night and meeting up with a mate for a few pints on Wednesday.

Good to see so many moving in the right direction!

Jumped on the scales today and despite not going to the gym since before Xmas and eating crap lately along with my back injury...I weigh the same as before Xmas (actually 0.1kg less). Cuffed with that.

Back is slightly better today (not crawling across the lounge!) so going to go for a walk around tesco and get some thing healthy to cook for dinner.

First bit of exercise today since 7th Jan as had a horrible cold I couldn't shift.

Only managed 20 mins on the cross trainer (in the office) and wasn't sweating (usually starts about 20 mins in), but I do find myself wanting to be a bit more active, walking into town etc.

Slimming world for me and I was OTT good initially (zero 'syns' and hardly any healthy extras as had no real appetite) hence the initial big loss, but can feel temptation to eat more and worse creeping back in. Hungry today and only so much fruit and veg one guy can eat.

Slimming world has brought out the (very bad) chef in me, cooking from scratch more than I have since before the kids came along.

Enjoying everything about it other than a 'few' ingredients for a family dinner seemed to cost me £57 biggrin

From what I posted, I doubt you have tbh. There’s other factors I’m tracking.

Friday night’s sleep was the best I’ve had since I started tracking my sleep in November, that’s despite the detrimental effect alcohol has on getting ‘good’ sleep.

I appreciate its a simplistic sweeping statement to a more complex issue but truthfully, alcohol an caffeine are bad for sleep.

That said, I don't know how much of the above you are or aren't consuming nor how frequently wink

A 1.7kg loss for me last week. Happy with that (had a skiing holiday planning drinks last Monday) - rest of the week tried to be good. Defo did more walking (out every lunchtime).

Let’s all keep up the good work !!

Much like the terminator, I have detailed files.

Tracking alcohol, caffeine and sugar to get a better understanding of what specifically impacts my body the worst. Both amount of each and when consumed.

There are other factors outside diet of course, but they’ll come second once diet is sorted out.
