Medical reasons for not losing weight

The cycling isn't really for exercise, I have to get kids to school and choose not to drive them, so there and back, twice a day = 4x10 min rides.
I can't make that any longer!
Presumably you could lengthen the leg of the journey where you haven't got the nippers with you.The cycling isn't really for exercise, I have to get kids to school and choose not to drive them, so there and back, twice a day = 4x10 min rides.

But to be honest, I think your problem is more to do with your eating. You're consuming more than you think. You need to be meticulous with logging everything, and the vagueness in your earlier post needs to be replaced with factual weights. For example, "Only ever drink alcohol on Friday and Saturday nights. But not to excess. Might have a pudding on a Sunday after a roast." could mean just about anything.

Ok, food.
Porridge 120k
Water 0k
Sweetner 0k
Ham salad
Ham 150k
Cucumber 16c
Toms 12k
Or
Mugshot 100k
Based on my weight, height, etc I should have between 1200 and 1400 to lose weight.
So above leaves 877 k to have at dinner. There is no way I eat more than that at dinner. I have meat and veg, carbs like pasata or potato are very small ( fist size)
Even if I had a pint of semi skimmed milk for my tea ( I have no where near that) it's another190k.
Doesn't add up!

Ok, roast dinner
Roast chicken breast 142k
Gravy 15k
Potato (dry roasted) 100k
Veg, no more than 100k
Total 342k hardly an over the top meal!
Pudding, let's say a 300k pudding
Wine: 1 bottle Pinot 620k
Vodka: 55k per measure. Let's say I have 8 vodkas 440
Diet coke free.
That is 8400 per week.
Minus. Alcohol for week = 7340
Minus 300k for a pudding = 7040
Divide by 7 = 1005k per day which I'm well within.

You have 'a' potato singular with your roast? What about the beers? Yorkshire puddings?Pudding, let's say a 300k pudding

The overwhelming advice you've received here is that you're grossly underestimating your calorie intake. The above would continue to suggest that.
300 on a pudding may also be very optimistic given you're guessing at it.
Again cut back. Get rid of the wine? You're then 620 calories down off the bat. If you're that upset about the lack of weight loss you're thinking you have a medical condition - surely it's less stress to drop the wine for a few weeks?
Do more exercise. Eat less. The standard western diet is massively calorie dense in most cases. It's genuinely amazing how quickly the calories can tot up over the course of a day even trying to eat healthily. It's really not easy
That excludes the 'secret eating' aspect of things flying in under the radar which I'm happy to give you the benefit of the doubt on not happening. Also very hard to control (says me who just had a chocolate muffin for breakfast).
As has also been suggested it's great you're doing some exercise - but the amount you've listed isn't really much. Again the amount of exercise required to burn a decent amount of calories is usually far far more then people estimate.

You just pulling figures out of the air? Because most of that looks wrong to me. Veg for a start will be circa 0cals. Potatoes double it, gravy double it, chicken is right depending on how much you have 140 is half a breast (86g) so id guess it needs to be higher as that's quite a small portion so double it, a roast dinner is easily gonna be circa 700calories.Roast chicken breast 142k

Slice of fudge cake is 230cals, but add ice cream or custard and its more. So 300cal might be about right but it depends what you have, id say more like 400cals.
Most meals are around 500-700.
Alcohol looks right. But if your serious about losing weight that's the easiest thing to cut back on if not cut out completely, if you cant cut it out you need to see your doctor.
TBH im starting to see you make excuses, you either want our advice or you don't. If you were looking for an easy answer their isn't one, no magic pill, no special trick, just hard work, the hardest part being mentally.
If you want to exercise id suggest couch to 5k, 30minutes 3 times a week on your own, if you cant find 90minutes in the 10000+ minutes in a week you need to readdress your priorities a tad. Also with the latest revelations about child obesity getting your kids into good eating habits now would do them wonders. I could link 100s of articles but im not sure you'd read them.

Also (yes more rant from me, its because I care) what about drinks? tea and coffee are pretty much zero cal but the milk isn't, fizzy drinks even diet ones should be avoided they are very very bad for you. Consciously drink water, being hydrated does you wonders.

Ok, yes a single medium potato! I'm dieting! Lol. No yorkies, rest of the family have them, again I'm dieting so I dont. No beers I'm afraid. I don't have a small plate granted, but I do love veg so I tend to go large there. Obviously it's all cooked no butter, oil etc. I'm not having portions of cauliflower cheese either! LolThe overwhelming advice you've received here is that you're grossly underestimating your calorie intake. The above would continue to suggest that.

Pudding: to be fair I did guess that. I googled calories on everything else. But maybe 2/3 a month I have one. It's ealisy avoided though as I don't have a sweet tooth. When and if I do its use
Ly a very small portion. But often I pass.
Exercise, I currently do 2/3 times a week 1 hour of HITT training. Non stop for an hour. Not ponying around on a treadmill.
What would you suggest is more acceptable?

In fact it sounds as though now you're finally responding to all the questions concerning your intake you've come over all defensive and argumentative?
As you've seen here, save for some exceptionally rare conditions (most of which have other side-effects), you must acknowledge that there's probably somewhat more than your circa 1000kCal guesstimate getting into you every day.
It's not what you want to hear- feel free to swear at me a bit.
At 12 stone and 5'2, as you're surely aware, you are quite seriously overweight.
The good news is that if you're not gaining weight/losing weight - you've now established what your actual calorific needs are (for your current weight).
The bad news is that at your current size you burn more calories than if you were slim as your Basal Metabolic Rate (go here to check on it: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/tools/bmr-calculator) is quite high so as and when you start to lose weight, it's going to mean you've got to then drop the calories AGAIN to continue losing.
I estimate that your current BMR is 1400 so you cannot hope to lose any weight at all unless you're under that.
Aim for 1000kcals a day (inc weekends) for 6 weeks and I absolutely assure you that you'll lose at least 2 pounds in that time.

Yes im a tt whos lost 3 stone (25% of my original weight) and found it remarkably easy & even interesting, did couch to 5k and again found it easy and enjoyable, lifts 3 times a week and finds it invigorating. But enough about me.So, from my diet of no processed food, no fried food, no fast food, no pastry, etc you have concluded my kids need to get into healthy eating?! fk you. Thanks.

You've clearly lost your way when it comes to what matters in life and you being insulted by my comment about your kids I understand is just a naturally motherly instinct I expected a push back on it, perhaps the anger you feel for me will give way to the message i'm trying to get across and make you think that perhaps im trying to help YOU, I don't post this stuff for the good of my health but for yours.

Yes, some slightly odd and strangely forceful and inappropriate opinions directed towards the OP here. I wonder how many posters have qualifications in the sports science/nutrition field. So, from my diet of no processed food, no fried food, no fast food, no pastry, etc you have concluded my kids need to get into healthy eating?! fk you. OP - if you're really serious about losing weight then try to get down to your local national brand gym and ask at the desk for recommendations for a Personal Trainer who specialises in nutrition.

Yup, best to get advice from people that know.
