The idea that an adult living in our climate needs to nurse a water bottle all day long is ridiculous.
Well said that man; I'm sure it's the latest fad. And as for those bottles with a nipple on top - it just looks repellent. (I'd also include those people that drink coffee from the likes of Starbucks/Costa through those slots in the plastic top (like a kiddies Tommy Tippee cup) - YOU LOOK LIKE RETARDS).

On the subject of water - I can't remember the last time I drank any water - maybe a couple of weekes ago? A small glass perhaps? Almost never touch it. It is because I have this metabolism that gets it out of other liquids. I am not dead, I am slim, healthy, with good skin and a full head of hair. What is all this water meant to do? I'm confused.
so i can assume that neither of you particpate in any physical exercise then?

I get through a 1.5 ltr bottle (filled from tap) at work and then will have a pint or 2 of squash in the evening. Plus a can of diet coke and a coffee or 3.

I reckon I easily go through about 5-6 litres of water a day between coffee, water, squash and the occasional beer.
In the summer I can go through up to 8-10 pints of tap water during a day in the office just sat on my ass.

Probably about 3-4 litres a day depending on how hot it is and I'll drink more if doing sports.

Er, no. I certainly wouldn't put myself through the indignity of jogging/running (although I do walk and off-road motorcycle a lot on the moors (I live on them)) and as for going to a gym: wild horses couldn't drag me into one. I would count myself as fit and strong though - just come in from moving 20 bags of sand and 5 of cement up the garden (steep) and that was hard work. (I can also confirm that it's colder than it looks out of the sun).

On holidays I ski well from first to last lift, I swim and scuba dive a lot. I still don't see why I need to drink a trillion litres of water a day.

you dont. many people drink a litre or two everyday to remain hydrated so that they perform better when completing some form of physical exercise though. in short, the more you sweat the more you need to replace and the more you drink regularly the easier it is. for me it stops me snacking and the a/c in our office is utterly cack so its helps. also, it stops me drinking coke and rotting me teeth!

The last time I drank just water on its own would be 4 months ago in Thailand.

I never ever drink it when I'm here except in tea or hot Vimto.

I have about 2 cups of tea per day and 4 hot Vimtos.

When working construction type stuff, I'll be sucking down 2.5-4 litres a day no problems. Normally I drink about 2 litres and that keeps me fluids clear and whiff free.
