Bit over calories today.

Usual healthy breakfast etc but with it being the usual half day on a Friday we grabbed a Subway for lunch, those cookies don’t come cheap (200cal / half as much as my sub).

Went for one of the healthier options in Nando’s for dinner but still managed to clock up a casual 750cal. On the plus side, used their hottest sauce to spice things up so come tomorrow morning I’ll probably get more out than went in hehe

Don’t know is my day has been saved or not...

After eating just soup (200kcal) and a grapefruit (100?) all day I went out for a friend’s birthday, had ordered a dirty burger (and a few vodka lime soda’s) but got kicked out before it could arrive (for having the “cheek” to tell a barman that if he wanted to get through a crowd it was more polite to ask than push...)

The dirty burger has been replaced by spelt pasta...think that’s better?

My garmin app is showing I'm going the right way.

I'm working for it though, these are the stats for the last 7 days, I had Wednesday off from exercise but I'm really feeling better for it.

It may go a bit wrong tomorrow as my Mrs has mentioned she wants to go to the pub.....

Tell her to enjoy yourself and have a good time as you're going to the gym.

Ha ha I don't think that will work, we don't live together and I haven't seen her for 3 weeks as it is.

I've been putting in some good work on my rower and am definitely improving my fitness level and stamina day by day. Not fit enough to do a straight 2k row yet at anything but embarrassing times but with my 8x 3 min intervals with 1 min gentle row in between (32 min total work-out session) I am building up my distances. Yesterday I did a total of 5573m at an average 20 spm (strokes per min) and today I have comfortably beat that to 5769m at an average 22 spm thumbup. Really feels like a good work-out and I feel great afterwards. I could probably push a bit harder but I nearly killed myself when I tried way too hard on a 2k row and was coughing up my lungs for nearly 12 hours afterwards so I'm sticking with 'uncomfortable but manageable' rather than 'painful'. smile

Glad to hear it’s all going well still and that the weight is going down!

Not too bad here. Still eating ‘clean’ and have managed a week of 1500 calorie days. Get hungry but the results will be worth it. The psychology is interesting, I think you really, really have to want it, especially when the temptation to overeat/ drink or eat rubbish is everywhere around us.

Annual job medical is in May so hoping to be down to 12 stone by then.

Totally agree with you ref the highlighted bit. I am finding this thread to be a great motivation reading about the efforts other 'losers' are putting into it. Kinda spurs me on to keep it up and keep at it rather than succumb to the temptation of filling my trolley with cake, pies, pizzas and ice creams which is what I could quite easily return to after a stty day.

yikes Just noticed you've closed the distance on me by 0.2kg on the weight front. I need to put more effort in as I can't have you overtaking me! nono

Definitely. I find checking in on here really helpful. Knowing that there are other people on the same ‘journey’ as you makes it feel more attainable.

I’ve tried to shift the excess ballast before but for some reason this time it feels genuinely acheievable. I’ve now got to the point where people have started to notice. It’s pretty sad but it’s a little victory any time somebody says it.

Where are you at weight wise now? There's no update on the table for you for this week. 2kg down for the previous week before is heading in the right direction at least so keep up whatever you're doing!

I checked on Wednesday but I genuinely can’t remember, I’ll check again tomorrow. My phone doesn’t seem to let me update the wiki without it messing up the formatting.

I found your post from Wednesday where you said 0.4kg down. I've updated your line on the table.

One week to go til 1st Feb. I really want to be down a full stone in a month so need to be 105.6 kg to achieve that goal. Currently 106.7 kg today.

Had a cheeky Friday weigh and I'm down on last Sunday so I've had a bacon roll at work this morning, first 'bad' food of the year for me. Hopefully I won't regret it come Sunday rolleyes

Caved in and had takeaway pizza and mozzarella sticks, chips and chicken bites (whole family).

There must be a slight mental change as I felt guilty (still ate it!) both last night and this morning typing this biggrin

Fully intend to get back at it (although dinner tonight with the in-laws).

ETA: on my home scales, one night of indulgence seems to have put me back 5 days of losses. I update the table after official slimming world weigh-in (Fridays) so at least that gives me most of the week to make up for it.

I don’t believe you’re one of the keto / zero carb dieters so really you shouldn’t. Strongly believe in “eat well 90% of the time.” The odd pint, bacon roll or side of fries shouldn’t see you sentenced to the electric chair, as long as it is just the odd one.

I don’t know what the rest of a slimming world diet looks like but if you have been running on fairly low carbs it’s entirely possible a 3-5lb gain from one carb heavy meal is your body replenishing it’s glycogen stores.

Yeah, it is delicate, you end up with all that food in transit, it replenishes your glycogen and also, takeaways are usually laden with salt which makes you drink more fluids and hang onto them. Gaining or losing 4 to 5 pounds of actual fat needs a fair amount of commitment !

You will see a blip like that and I find it takes me three days to get back to where I was, the key thing to realise is that everything isnt screwed up, even a massive 1500 cal blow out will only put half a pound of fat on, and thats only if its on top of what you normally eat, I typically work on an 800 cal evening meal so would have a 1200 cal overshoot in that scenario, I try to mitigate it if I know its coming by eating less before and I also find the next day I am not hungry for ages.

So many good intentions go off the rails when despondency sets in when we go off the rails, just need to crack back on, the fact that 95 percent of the time you are on it will compensate for the odd blowout, life is to be enjoyed, you need the occasional treat, its how slim people stay slim and why a lot of very overweight people are so big, every meal becomes a treat and most of us arent able to do that.

Down another half pound today to 16 st 5.2

Surprised as had a decent sized Spag Bol last night and a mini carton of Haagen Das, no garlic bread, didnt go back for seconds, no booze and the ice cream portion is less than I would get from a big carton, but plenty.

i think I am losing as not drinking, going to the pub tonight to watch a band but not going to drink, away next weekend and going to try not to drink despite being away and dry january being over, I think I might have said but I may just not drink again until I hit my target, now there is some motivation ! a little backwards as its what causes the gain but I want to maintain at or near the target weight, not a 16 plus.

"away next weekend and going to try not to drink despite being away and dry january is over"

Was talking about next weekend as a point in time rather than now, could have been clearer.

Am going to the end, despite,
