Bring deadly serious, if there's one lesson to be learned from this thread, it's that minor niggles that won't go away shouldn't be ignored!
Exactly. Or rather, when problems which are treated using methods which should work still persist and persist.... Then they really shouldn't be ignored.
Loving the updates here. Great to see you are well on the mend Ross.
It makes me wonder where I'd be today if I hadn't have pushed to be hurried along the waiting list. After my 2nd gastroscopy was decided to be pointless I was told I'd be pushed along the waiting list faster. 5 weeks later I heard nothing. I phoned my gp and explained and I got a phone call that same day saying I could have a cancellation appointment the very next day to see a registrar gastro-enterologist.
It was that chap who sent me for the head scan.....

Very different, but a few years back I was sent home with painkillers 3 times by different GPs of the same practice. I was very ill, being sick and struggling to walk, but it wasn't until the 4th visit in 10 days that I was referred to a consultant, who urgently recommended my appendix was removed (which it was that same morning). It was that chap who sent me for the head scan.....
By then it had burst, so I then spent 3 weeks with peritonitis which was pretty miserable. I was told at the time that appendicitis is notoriously difficult to diagnose, but the whole experience didn't fill me with confidence.

After a few hours I was diagnosed with appendicitis and it was removed, found to be gangrenous after removal. Was in hospital for 13 days .
But chap in next bed later told me that he overheard the Drs saying (before the op) they were going to send me home as they couldn't ascertain what was wrong with me.
If they had then I wouldn't have survived.
Have had a bit of a bugger 9f a headache today which has somewhat pissed me off a little.... Going to get a reasonably early night and not give a flying f

Similar thing , some years ago I got intense pains in abdomen. The doc came out and sent me to hospital, was put onto a ward for checks

Hence a short stay (3 days I think? - was nearly 2 decades ago) in the local hospital.
Wouldn't feed me, in case had to be operated on.
Only felt better once had a shot in the arse. Not a clue what the injection was though? Probably some sort of antibiotics.
Never saw a pretty nurse. Plus some

Today has been so much better. No headache to speak of really. I slept better last night (I did take sleeping tablets.... My GP said to take them every few days and gradually ween off).
I visited some old friends earlier, I've walked 3.1 miles.
Tomorrow is my birthday, I'm extremely excited for the morning for a very kind someone is taking me out in one of my favourite cars around. My mum is down in the afternoon and it'll be a family afternoon and seeing some friends in the evening.
Have a good weekend every body![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)

I know, can't wait....although I suspect it'll be raining ![frown](/inc/images/frown.gif)
My swallowing has improved considerably over the last week or 2. I can swallow most foods now, but chewing them is another matter. My jaw is very stiff and the muscles get tired quite quickly (to be expected.... Not used for 6 weeks!). It's also difficult because I can't move food around my mouth well because of the lack of tongue movement.
Still struggling a little with speech a little because of this but..... People can quite easily understand what I'm saying now at least. Because 1 of 2 vocal cords is paralysed I'm feeling like I have to talk loudly just to get out normal volume.
Still..... In time.
