The 2023 weight loss thread - all welcome

Oh, and a quick mid-week weigh in: down another 0.6kg from Saturday.
I think I’m a little dehydrated again, so will take that with a pinch of salt.
Weekend in Disney Paris coming up so it will be hard work to get ensure I don’t undo this good work. I suspect there will be some beer with one of the other dance dads being taken hostage with me…

I feel like we're in the same place here.
I admit I've been pretty rubbish this first couple of months.
I regularly have nights out at the weekends, I'm sure this doesn't help.
The worst thing though is I really seem to struggle to control my drinking through the week. That's really holding me back.
I've had some health issues and stress which hasn't helped. Most of it I'm sure caused by drinking every night.
I'm really going to try harder from today. New month, new start.
Remember, there are some very good low alcohol beers out there now, they're not all ghastly like Becks Blue.I admit I've been pretty rubbish this first couple of months.

Do it. It’s just one day. Don’t worry about tomorrow. Just worry about today. In fact, don’t even worry about this evening. Just focus on the next couple of hours. And then the next two hours. And then…you get the idea.
When tomorrow arrives, do the same. Don’t let an inanimate object (food in the cupboard) beat you. You can do it - two hours at a time!
As said above, it's the booze causing me the most problems, the diet is actually OK for the most part. When tomorrow arrives, do the same. Don’t let an inanimate object (food in the cupboard) beat you. You can do it - two hours at a time!
I've just been out for a run. Just 10 minutes, sprint between lamp posts then walk. Now wheezing like an old Austin Metro. I'm sure that'll improve in time, though.

Any recommendations? Apart from accidentally buying non-alcoholic beer at the off-licence when I was 18 I’ve never tried it. Take it they’re generally lower calorie as well? Honourable Dead Snark said:

Erdinger alkoholfrei is great, fresh no alcohol wheatbeer
Brooklyn special effects is a lovely, fairly hoppy low alcohol lager
Baltika 0 is a Russian 0 alcohol, similar to the erdinger
The erdinger of a my favourite
The big brands are all rather crappy and tasteless, Peroni Libera is the best for me of the main brands Erdinger and Brooklyn are in the supermarkets.

I’ve found Guinness is virtually identical to the alcohol version - look, smell and taste
I also like Stella and Moretti
Erdinger is the best I've found
Doom Bar is very good, low calorie too - 65 calories for a whole 500ml bottle
Days 0% pale ale
Lucky Saint

All of those are available in mainstream grocery stores. We get ours from Tesco. Partner always gets 0% cider and enjoys it.
She also got a 0% white wine (too sweet) and a 0% rose which she liked.

Not shifted any weight yet, which is disheartening to be honest.
Diet is still on track and I think my stomach capacity is shrinking as I'm not as ravenously hungry as I used to be, although this may be due to not entering the 'carb cycle' anymore.
The gym on Monday has written my arms off & I've come down with a cold now so led in bed all last night, not going for the run which I had planned

Only gripe is due to not being able to eat after 8pm I do feel a little hungry going to bed, just have to suck it up at the minute I guess. Anyone else on 8-16 fasting have any tips?
Back when I started, if I was hungry I would eat cheese and or peperami - it doesn’t spike your insulin like carb foods and surgery things.Edited by CoolHands on Thursday 2nd March 18:14

Is the weight loss Wiki okay? Think a few updates over the last week have disappeared (mine from last week has).
structure is ok, perhaps 2 people were updating it at the same timeThe thread is more important than the wiki - but perhaps worth checking your own folks. I also clip a sheet of dates and weights to the fridge.

My last update has gone walkabout too (just re-done). Should be an edit history

I'm the same - update from the 28th has gone, but is now updated again. The thread is more important than the wiki - but perhaps worth checking your own folks. I also clip a sheet of dates and weights to the fridge.
