Overnight oats for breakfast, and an undressed salad with cous cous for lunch. Trying to keep my water intake up too.

It's easy for the first few days when you're motivated but I'll be secretly eating an entire tube of pringles at work in a few weeks. laugh

Instant oats for me. Blew up all over the inside of the microwave, so I did not even get the full packet!

A pretty good start for me - I've consistently hit the calorie and macro targets recommended in MFP this week - I've not really felt like I'm 'dieting' which is good. Estimate I'm running an 800 cal/day deficit based on BMR so that's 3,200 fewer calories in the last four days alone. I've decided I'm not going to weigh myself too frequently as I think it'll be more accurate/less variable than weighing daily.

Better day, ending with 25 mins of circuits and a cornetto. Under target and exercised. That's job jobbed.

I'm doing ok on weight watchers in the first week!

I've saved up enough points each day (can save four points each day), and earnt enough fitness points from exercise to have my late Christmas dinner and 6 pints on Sunday!

I've come to realise how bad for you things like pringles are, compared to say an omelette. I can have I think 4 pringles for the same as a three egg ham and tomato omlette with weight watchers... I know which fills me up more!

Weigh in on Monday, day after my weekly blow out, so might not show any great progress!

This weeks gone well. I’ve managed to stay under my calorie allowance each day on MFP and within the allowable syns on SW.
Have also run 11.5km this week, and ended up going out for a 5k walk last night when temptation mounted to open something alcoholic in front of the tv.

Scales say 101.7kg this morning. Not entirely sure I’ve really lost 2+kg in a week, but it’s a nice morale boost.

Last year I always weighed myself on a Friday morning. Seeing a loss usually spurred me on to be good over the weekend and not blow things by binging on food and drink. With that in mind I stepped on the scales this morning and was delighted to see I've already dropped to 74.7 kg. Ok, it's probably just water retention but I'm still chuffed with the 0.5 kg loss

Another good day on SW plan. I've been seriously gassy today though, almost painful. Guess it's down to the extra veg / fibre consumption though.

15st 9lb down to 15 st 5 in a week, happy with that for starters, I seem to be one of those people who has about 4kg of food/excess water in them at any time, so if I eat sensibly, then I can lose anything between 4 and 7 lbs in the first week.
Either that or it's just because I stopped eating mince pies and drinking 4 beers a day......

Edited as I had accidentally put 14st instead of 15.

Because it's Christmas day here and I can't resist... I know, not a great end to the first week. The plan seems to suggest I'm allowed to though, by scrimping, and saving and exercising through the week I've got the points to do it.

No chocolates, and beer with food only, so damage limitation slightly!

I quite like the idea of the Friday weigh in to give you the push to be good over the weekend.

Down 1kg this week to 74kg. Around 1550 net calories per day on average according to MFP.

I blew myself out over Christmas, ate and drank far too much and felt awful but knowing I'd be doing something about it in the new year.

I used to cycle a lot and keep active at work (we have time allocated for fitness) but after an injury at the start of last year to my left achilles I've not done near enough and now I'm fat.

Im 36, 6'4" and weigh 17 stone 7 which is the heaviest I've ever been and I hate it! I've been eating too much bad food too and it's all caught up with me now frown

I looked about at which diet to do and as I work with a lad who's wife is a slimming world consultant (hes lost a lot of weight by it) I'm having a go at sticking to the principles of it rather than joining up. All the meetings near me don't fit with my shift pattern so I wouldn't be able to get there every week.

So far I'm a week in and enjoying it, feel better in myself, sleeping better and enjoying physical exercise again.

I've got my road bike on the turbo trainer in my garage and I'm using the GCN training sessions on YouTube which are great if you're short of time (20 minute fat burner every other day) as well as increased dog walking duties.

Going to get back into my running too so fingers crossed I can get back down to 16 stone by the summer.

Just need to buy myself some scales now to track how I'm doing.

One down side is that I can't stop farting, not sure if it's me still clearing the Xmas over indulgence or just more veg and healthy food but I bloody stink laugh

I think as long as you are sensible and track what you eat then you shouldn't need Slimming World or Weightwatchers, I guess people who use these also like the moral support that they get too.

My daughter is a nightmare for faddy diets, she has to spend money and she seems to think that the more you spend the better it will be, Juice plus was one, (it seems it is just a giant pyramid selling scandal), it cost a fortune, the juice tastes rank, she lasted 2 days after spending about £200 on a kit, I said to her before she started "so you drink the juice, you lose loads of weight, what happens when you start eating normal food again; you put all of the weight back on, you can't drink that crap for the rest of your life?", she still attempted it though and hated it.

She did others too, both myself and her boyfriend (who is a chef) told her just to monitor what she ate, don't go to the burger van at lunch, just be sensible; we did this for a year or so on and off whilst she was trying every fad diet going, in the end she gave in to us and guess what; she lost weight.

Too late for another entry????

So after a truly gluttonous Christmas I got weighed on the 2nd Jan and I'm the biggest I've been for a very long time at 136.7kg absolutely horrifying, but equally motivating. I'm following the low carb approach which has worked well for me in the past and this morning i weighed 130.9kg so that certainly moving in the right direction I also deadlifted 260kg for a single which is a PB so also the xmas calories have some benefit.

End of Q1I would hope to get down to 115kg.

A female friend got relived of some money doing the Cambridge diet, she's back up to her previous weight again now...

I'm just cutting down on sugar, making sure I eat the right things and generally being sensible with things. Hopefully with the training ramping up again it'll do the trick.

Some of the slimming world recipes are pretty good, so I'll cook up big batches of the chilli/curry and freeze it in batches to my work dinners. Much better than going to the shop and buying crap food or a takeaway.

Hopefully early enough to get involved in this one.
Current weight 16 st 6lb
Target weight 13 st 7lb
Target weight end Q1 call it 14 6.

Last year after I broke my knee 2016 just went up and up, was really unhappy with myself and appearance but there was always a reason to drink / binge with work nights.

This year, no excuses!
Holiday booked for 30/06 with the intention of being able to take my top off without fear.

First progress weigh in of the year.

Started 01/01 @ 17st 0
1 Week on 08/01 16st 6

A loss of 8lbs, well chuffed. Cutting out alcohol and having a little faith in myfitnesspal seems to be paying off.

How's everyone else getting on ?
