Today:

Bench Press - 8x12-1 rep (up to 140kg) and then 8x2-13 reps drop sets from 130-100kg
DB Cross Bench Pull Overs - 4 x 12-8 reps

T-Bar Row - 5 x 12-8 reps
BB Pendlay Row - 6 x 5 reps
Lat Pull Down - 4 x 12-8 reps
I'd like my bench back up to 140ish, that kind of workout with the drops is exactly what I'm doing and it's coming back, albeit slowly!

Did Barry island 10k yesterday, flippin knackering in the heat, managed a semi respectable 50mins. The planned Gym session today was kicked into touch as still feeling knackered. Back in tomorrow for full body weights.

On the subject of full body, I tried for 11 months push, pull and leg splits but it simply wasn’t working for me, ideally you’d nail the PPL in consecutive days then rest and go again, due to family stuff I wasn’t hitting muscles groups twice a week hence the switch to 3 x full body a week and have noticed a massive change in body shape and gains. Train for what works for you, not what other people say.

I've found for running full body is pretty good .

Marathon/Ultra i was running less days lifting heavier but i could kill my legs and have days to recover.

At present I'm training for a good half so trying to balance what's the most i can lift and still do a fast progressive 5k at the gym ( as well as outdoor runs)

Went to the gym and lasted about 20 mins before walking out. Gym bros everywhere swaggering about in sliders, dropping weights and invading each other's personal space.

Quick half hour on arms this morning. Had a dreadful night sleep, exam results out today, so dropped of Mrs and shot into gym before shooting back to school. Sleep deprived workouts are no fun.
Dumbell curls up to 25kg only sets of six
Hammer curls same
Rope triceps push downs up to stack sets of eight
Seated triceps machine stack x 35
Olympic bar curls x 20

$hit workout but its done.

I went to PureGym once on a free trial.

Absolutely heaving during the day time, no one's fault, I guess.

Couldn't find the cardio machines as the sign is only visible from the entrance, condescended to by some prick in a polo shirt.

After 30 mins cardio. Still no machines free.

There was some trick to using the doors to get out. I couldn't work it out as I didn't have a swipe pass.

I walked out of the fire exit, setting off the alarm.

Not for me.

Can't walk out the fire escape, there are cars parked in front of it blocking the exit unless you're in single file. There were a dozen people queuing for water at one point yesterday.
Weirdly, there are no toilet seats either. It's all a bit prison-like, including st wifi/no phone signal.

fking hell.

I'd sooner pay Duncan Banantyne the same monthly my car payments to avoid that.

And they have a spa.

I have found puregym alright (Canterbury - Riverside)

I usually go early between 6-7am. Mostly empty, never wait for equipment. The showers are grim though, id never use them.

The gym model generally doesnt work when everyone turns up at once.

My wife has a bannatyne membership and loves it. But its £46 pcm rather than £21. I do get to go with her as a guest sometimes but i couldn't justify that much for a gym.

If puregym gets to the stage the above poster suggests id bail and go to banatynes.

Yes, the Canterbury branch looks very nice; the Luton one is an absolute hole. Best thing about it is that the parking is free; the gym shares a car park with the casino next door, although I think their kitchen exhaust vent is next to the gym's aircon vents because on a Saturday night you get a nice smoky grease smell and a bit of a foggy hue to the gym!

Yesterday, bike ride cut short cos of head on with an X5, huge dent in their bonnet from my now very sore knee and various cuts and bruises, more importantly my lovely bike is wrecked, trip to A and E revealed nothing more than damaged ligaments and lots of bruising. Anyway today lovely 20 minute swim then after some consideration a 45km bike, very sore at first but eased up soon afterwards, actually felt pretty good come the end, then 2 sets of 20 pull ups to finish

Mix of stuff. Suffering with joint pains, but staying fairly fit regardless. Sore left knee is the worst. Started building muscle/strength/stability in my left leg. My left vastus mediales and hamstring are both weak.

Had a nice family holiday in Slovenia. Hikes, MTB, cliff jumping, one run…

Today, gentle 40 minute swim in the bay then a hours recovery ride on the bike, let leg and hand (ripped out 2 finger nails) still up like a balloon.

You're a tank. I assume when it hit you the X5 was immediately written off?

Well done for keeping going mate, max respect for people that work around injuries, must have been a tough one.
