Back is really causing me problems, it's my left hand side lower and more like a shooting nerve pain, really struggling to get anything done
That sounds familiar. I've been dealing with sciatic pain for the past 6 months or so. Regular chiro visits and glute/hamstring mobility work has helped immensely.

Thanks for this, I can see a physio through my work so going to get that sorted ASAP, was really immobilised yesterday to the extent I was in my bed for 8!!

Been doing tons of stretching mobility stuff following people like Squat University and The Ready State on YouTube/Instagram. Lots of piriformis stretching too.

Did the same thing Friday. Was bed bound Saturday/Sunday morning but stretching and foam rolling glutes (very painful) eased it right up.
Still some issues now but managed a 360kg deadlift yesterday which probably wasn't the brightest idea but I'm mid peak and numbers to pull laugh

Keep up the good fight brother man! I have neglected my dead lift since returning to the gym, lower back has rarely given issues previously so that in itself is a lesson. At times I'm struggling to stand straight , that shooting horrible pain in my lower left back area. Trying to get through to doc as we speak.

Back home after a week in France and the Uk, a stressful car drive to the ferry terminal then a fkin rough 3hr crossing meant just a light pumpy back session, feels great to be back in the gym, then a swim around the bay in the dark.

Today, to pitch Black Sea swims one first thing the other this evening, really good chest session at the gym, incline press followed by weighted dips, then 65kms on the bike, body feeling nice and refreshed.

Lockdown taught me that working out at home is just not the same, sure I can do it and make good progress but I eventually found I miss the interaction.

Now, I am a miserable git that barely speaks to anyone but I always appreciate the friendly smile at the front desk and I miss observing the progress in others that occasionally motivates me to do another set.

Working out at home sometimes feels like doing the washing up.
Visiting the gym feels like going to work.

If only they could do something about the goddamn music.

Well that is spooky.

I posted the above in reply to another post that has mysteriously disappeared - surely a couple of days short for that sort of nonsense laugh

An hour and a quarter on the bike this morning, very windy as is normal for where I live, some big 5 minute efforts thrown in, legs feel great, 1km swim when I got home, then a really top back session with my son at the gym, weighted wide grip pull ups which I love at the moment, then bent over rows, back looking thick and shredded so something must be working!

Behind neck DB press
Straight bar pushdown
Cable chest fly

Finished off work small circuits of row machine, fan bike and ski machine thing.
