I've stayed exactly the same for about a month now which is more than a little frustrating as i've been exercising 5/6 times a week (mix of low intensity and high intensity stuff) and also eating much better with no snacks or takeaways. Usually this approach sees my weight drop off but absolutely nothing this time. Very frustrating and feels like i'm wasting my time. May be a health related issue though as i'm currently waiting for an ultrasound to check out some stomach pains i've been having. Has been mentioned to the doctor who didn't seem unduly worried.
weird you say that cos 10 years ago i did aggressive keto and dropped 2 stones. Tried it again recently and absolutely no change. How come so successful last time and zip this time? weird. But Im not looking to crash it now... sustained /long term /lifestyle and all that, steady away...
So I went from 16 stone 6 down to 12 stone 10 back in 2020, was nothing to do with the covid lockdowns as I had already started before it kicked off.
Over the next year I settled in the mid 13’s, from here on out I flucuated a little from low- high 13’s but stayed in that region for a couple of years.
then between Xmas 22 and March 23 i completely let myself down and shot straight upto 15 stone 2, couldn’t believe it when I weight myself, so angry.
anyway I got back onto my weight loss, got back down to 14 stone 7 but then went off track for a couple of weeks, as of this morning I’m 14 stone 11, I WILL stick with it now until I’m comfortably back in the 13’s.
I’m beyond disappointed with myself, we’re going away on holiday at the end of may and right now I have no summer clothes that fit nicely and my esteem as taken a hit, I have 5 weeks to lose a stone really

So after posting this I have magically started losing some weight and have ducked under 100kg for the first time since November. It may be 99.95Kg but i'll take it.usn90 said:

You can do it, just stick the the principles of eat less and move more. We're all here for the same reason, this is a safe space well by pistonheads standards anyway

I’ll do it, I have that strong desire like I did when I originally lost the weight, the last attempt It was like I was dragging my backside because I felt I had to, and I was starving all the time, whereas now there’s the motivation. You can do it, just stick the the principles of eat less and move more. Guys, my granny is super progressive and positive until the moment when she did not start to lose weight.. it turned out that after 65 years it is not so easy to lose this belly fat, but we started working out together as much as possible, I supported her in everything, she began to monitor her sleep and rest more and finally began to lose weight - so nothing is impossible!
Ambleton! Where you at? Have you fallen off?
It's all gone pear-shaped for me. My usual very healthy self went to rats in mid March when I began getting headaches out of nowhere. I never get headaches. Still getting them now but not as bad. OTC meds have no effect. Thought it was lack of electrolytes from my intermittent fasting so addressed that issue, no change. Then I thought it must be vitamin/nutrient deficiency so basically went to town eating sh*t-tons of every possible food type but that hasn't worked either, except put me at 98.3 kg . That was last weekend. Now managed to bring that down to 94.1 as of this morning.
Need my anchor back!

Back in.
Been doing ok until recently and have let things slide, got a holiday coming up at the start of August so 107 days off, a good target to aim for. Dont care what anyone else thinks about how I look, its just a good medium term aim and will feel more comfortable, plus can wear the clothes I had for a holiday last May which are rendered too tight by and extra stone or even less.
Have crept up to 105, 16 stone 8, 232 pounds, have dug out the spreadsheet I use to track it and updated it with current values, works pretty well as I put in my weight daily and it lets me know if I am on track on a per day basis.
I work out the target, divide that by the days, enter the amount I need to lose, on average per day to hit the goal I have defined, which is 14 stone/89 kilos so I need to lose 0.3365 pounds per day or 2.35 pounds per week to get there in 107 days.
Its very geeky and specific but it means I am more likely to stay on track.
I got down to about 14.9 (93 and a bit kilos) a few years back and was fairly slim, so if I can hit that I will be happy but want to go a bit further.
Been doing a bit of running, 5k twice a week so will try and step that up to 3, get out on the road bike and get in the gym as normal.

Decided to join this. For accountability I guess.
I lost a decent amount of weight last year, then had a Stag Do at the F1 Silverstone GP, interspersed with several weeks of all expense paid training through work, breakfast provided at the hotel, lunch provided at work, £25 a night food/drink allowance and well of course it would be rude not to, right? I’ll get back on the healthy afterwards, right??…
Wrong. I fell off the wagon then struggled to get back on, not for the first time.
I’ve not been on the scales for a while, but based on the way my clothes now fit, I can’t be far off where I was at the start of 2022.
03/01/22, I was 127.2kg, I got this down to 111kg by 24/04/22, so just about managed the 1kg/week I was aiming for. I started out on 3000 calories per day, and had reduced this down to 2500 by the April so I’m now just hoping to reset that.
I love cycling, I’ve got a mountain bike, a gravel bike and a Turbo Trainer with Zwift. I also have a Shotgun seat for the wee one, which is making it a bit easier to get out.
The big thing for me is getting my eating under control. Clearly with the way I am able to gain weight, I have no issue with consuming upwards of 4200 calories daily, otherwise I wouldn’t be putting on weight. That being said, I actually felt like I enjoyed it last year, the hard ceiling calorie limit worked for me and I was honest with it. The fact that the results kept coming (up to a point) was really helpful too.
At the point when I lost control, I’d actually lost the entire weight of my then 2 year old daughter, which was a fantastic visualisation tool.
I’m 33 and I’ve battled with my weight for what must be more than 15 years now. It really felt like last year was the time I was going to do it. I’d love to have a weight in kgs which is only 2 digits, I honestly can’t remember the last time that was true.
Maybe this time…

You need to change your mindset to food. I was in the same position, but these days when faced with similar situations I simply ask my self, would you eat poison if someone gave it to you for free? Would you walk off a cliff because everyone else is doing it??I lost a decent amount of weight last year, then had a Stag Do at the F1 Silverstone GP, interspersed with several weeks of all expense paid training through work, breakfast provided at the hotel, lunch provided at work, £25 a night food/drink allowance and well of course it would be rude not to, right? Morbid obesity is called that for a reason, its not about excerise or dieting, its about treating the most valuable thing you own with respect and care.
Enjoy flavours and food, just don't waste your eatting rubbish (which most hotel food is) just because its there.

Do you perhaps need an additional challenge like a sponsored walk, run or bike to aim for later this year?
Those are short terms aims, and it would be very easy to just go back to 'normal' post. I've found the only way to really keep the weight off is a constant reminder, and a change in mindset. Unnecessary snacking/junk food = killing your self slowly.
It's brutal, but the not far from reality, you than have to make a decision, 'yes I want to die earlier in return for very short term gratification' before devouring the snack/junk food.
Down by 2 pounds, so back on my way.
Couple of gym sessions, and being on a mission spurs me on in the gym so worked harder. Am extending my dog walks by say 15 mins.
Food wise, been good, am skipping breakfast and waiting for lunch, used that to good effect in the past, I find if anything I am hungrier if I have something earlier on.
For dinner last night did a stir fry and it was fantastic, I urge you to try one, its not super low calorie but its a proper meal and very satisfying, fry a chicken breast or some other meat, chop up a pile of assorted veg (Carrot, Onion, Brocolli, Peppers and whatever else you have handy) and add that. I add some garlic powder, Chinese 5 spice powder chilli, ginger and a bit of sauce like Hoi Sin towards the end, add a bit of water as you go if you dont want it too dry. Then add a packet of noodles. Its good as most of the bulk is from the veg, you have the protein from the chicken and some carbs from the noodles. I am not hungry from having that at seven PM last night. I sometimes crave Chinese food when trying to lose weight and this hits that spot very nicely and to be honest since have been doing it, have a Chinese and its actually nowhere near the quality. Do them a couple of times a week, good way to get a load of veg into a meal, and really enjoy it.
And then, if the dessert warning light is blinking in your head, a square of dark chocolate, eat it slowly and it switches it off.
The spreadsheet is helping, current weight - goal weight, the difference being divided by the number of days gives me a daily target to hit that goal, this is plotted on a line on a graph in the spreadsheet so can see if I am on target, behind, or as of now ahead as its early days.
Test will be Thursday, pub quiz night, we meet a couple we know and do the quiz, usually four pints and as the night wears on the crisps, nuts and stuff come out, sometimes we have won the round called "points or pies", either four points added to your score or four pies, can guess which gets chosen..

So, 2 weeks since last update... lost 2.5 lbs! Not great but something. Have major hip and knee pain which hasn't helped but happy to be under 20st for the time being. Corfu on 27th June so would like to be under 19 for then...
Being knackered from work does not help.
Onwards and upwards folks, keep the updates coming. It helps!
