Alls well that ends well ey, it won't be the end but its the last I shall post on pistonheads!

Couldn't last, slept the day then went and hit a mighty cardio session, not getting fat while off the weights!

Sorry to hear about that - glad you got some retribution in on the scum.

Re not posting about it here again, very wise. But I hope social problems in the NW go down a couple of notches in due course!

Sorry to hear that Downunder, hope the hand heals soon. Best saying nothing on here, wait 6 months and jump the fkers with a lump hammer wink

Seeing as I'm fit for nothing else at the minute, 12 mile walk this morning. Not exactly exciting but it beats sitting in the house.

Posted this on my normal forum....

A few years back (Oct 2008) I crashed my motorbike and broke my spine in 2 places (+ a shoulder blade). I started lifting seriously in Oct 2009. Over the past two weeks i've had a pain/niggle in my spine, between my shoulder blades where the break was (T5 & T6). It's not stopping training but it's there's a definite strain there that's not been apparent thus far. The Yoke, farmers and stiff leg deads show it up. Felt it [it]alot[/it] today.....

Plan is to continue as normal, doesn't seem a problem but my head is worrying me......

Thoughts???
Sorry to hear about your set back.
Firstly what have you broke, a broken back can be such a number of things.
Secondly i d see a good sports therapist or sports physio as it may be a case of tight internal rotators of scapula and could just be some trigger point release work. Another option is to get some propreceptive taping to make sure your not over compensating some way in your posture. Is the pain you have in the same side as the "broken" shoulder blade?

Sorry to hear about the mugging on hear the world has gone mad!

T5+6 Wedge fractures, pain is directly on/in the spine, between the shoulder blades (shoulder it's self isn't sore atall), much like the pain a few months after the injury. I don't think it's posture related as I'm pretty clued up/carfull with that over the past few years. To be honest it feels like I've lifted something that is too heavy, which I most likely have.... Still, as it's new it concerned me.

It feels fine when excercising/under load, more painfull when pressure is released (eg dropping something heavy etc)

I'll give it the rest of the week, maybe a light one tonight to get the blood flowing.

A few triples- squats (@170kg) deads (@200kg) and strict press (@60kg) seemed to do the trick tonight- not taxing but the back pain (that was there before the session) has disappeared, hopefully not to return.....

Some Body weight stuff mid week and that'll be me 'till comp day.

Classic lactic tolerance session on hills

100m 30s rest 300m
150m 35s rest 300m
200m 40s rest 300m

With the 300s aiming to be in 40s and 6 mins rest between sets.

Vomit inducing session but good!

How do machines calculate calories burned? Do they look at work done and assume a % efficiency for muscles?
