woke up this morning with a bugger of a cold. Need to shift it by Monday as the chatter online seems to be that they wont put me under general with one. Bugger!
Annoying. Lots of rest/sleep and lots of paracetamol. TBH the best way of keeping your immune system up is to make sure you get enough sleep every night.TheCarpetCleaner said:

Well I'm back at home, sans appendix. A bit uncomfortable but generally ok. Although the first time I needed the bog was a whole new experience.
Yep, after my double hernia op, i was in there a looooooooooooong time....when I had an op on my back I was given two bottles of laxative which were apparently 'industrial' strength
after following the dosage for a week I still hadn't had a motion, so in a moment of madness induced by pain from a stomach the size of big daddy's, I downed an entire bottle of the stuff
I left the toilet an hour later 1st lighter

Probably THE biggest phobia I have is a general anesthetic and an op. I hate the thought. My good old Nan has had many on hips and what not and is not fazed.
Fingers crossed and touch wood I've not had one to this day.
For my first ever op, they said the GA would make me feel "spaced out". I thought, "Excellent, I can try drugs legally." I was out like a fking light. No pink elephants. No blurred hands waving in front of my eyes. No bubbling voices in my ears. Fingers crossed and touch wood I've not had one to this day.

I am more worried about being awake and having an op/proceedure- local anasthetic, give me general anytime.
The last time I had something done, the sedation didn't sedate me and the local didn't fully numb me- I don't think anyway
I certainly wasn't awake for mine. The last thing I remember were the lights in the room as I was being wheeled in and wondering when they were going to ask me to start counting. The last time I had something done, the sedation didn't sedate me and the local didn't fully numb me- I don't think anyway
