I'll try it. I did dumbell burpess in my circuits class last night. Also saw an ex-Wire player doing dumbell push-ups with single arm-row combo which I had a crack at. They were knackering. The energy used is a lot more but I prefer the wrist position.

Also had a crack at single arm barbell snatches...blimey, they make you workbiggrin

Had a go at this tonight in the gym...did it with a 30 sec break between machines.

Row 19 min 30 sec
Run 27 min 50 sec
Bike 6 min 13 sec

Total 53 min 33 sec

I'd like to think I can improve on the run by three mins or so as I have only just started running again after a year off due to a heal injury. I'd be bloody happy to get under 50 mins combined over the next two or three months....I'm the wrong side of 40 so I think that would be pretty good.

Run 22:20
Row 21:34
Cycle 4:54

48:48
My aim is to go sub 45
Can take 3 mins off the run, wasn't pushing it and hadn't warmed up.
Would struggle to take much off the row, i've only used the rowing machine 5 or 6 times ever and my technique is probably rubbish .
Doubt I could take anything more than a few seconds off the cycle.
Have only really been training for 2 months after a good few years off. Currently doing about 15-20 hours training per week, mostly on the bike.

practice teh rowing...should be able to get it down to 20 mins without killing yourself. I'm fat and I can do it. Cant run to save my life as dodgy knee and ankle.

I like the idea of this, I need a challenge. My best 5km run has been 25 mins so I should be able to do it.

The big mistake I think people make with rowing is not getting the breathing right....you need to breath more like you are doing weights rather than doing a run or bike ride where you don;t have to think about it. Concentrate on getting a lung full of air as you go from the position from your legs being fully extended to when you're legs are bent....then exhale when you extend again.

I do the above and row at roughly 20 strokes per minute....I can row comfortably under 20 mins doing that. I suppose it does take a little more outright muscle strength than rowing at a high tempo but that is no bad thing as it probably gives you a better all round workout ?

scratchchin Something not quite right here as this is in excess of 60kph average. Unless you are Bradley Wiggins?

Probably depends on the gearing of the bike to an extent....on the exercise bikes at my gym 100 rpm got me close to 6 minutes. 120rpm is bloody fast! As is 60 kph! Mind there is no wind resistance.

I regularly do 5 min for 5 k. It's spinning at about 115 rpm on 13 level. Not sure what the model of the bike is. I'll post it up tomorrow. I get through the 1st k in about 80 seconds so the other 4 k are well over 60kph. I can average 50kph for a full hour so I'm not surprised that I can get through 5k in 5mins. If only I could do this on the road!

Hadn't tried this in over a month.
Run: 19.57
Row: 20.08
Cycle: 5.04

45.09.
I'll try it again next month.
I'm thinking now that sub 44 is achievable before my 30th birthday in June.

gone the stage further and just back from the gym after doing

10k run 10k row 10k cycle.

yikes

my time was 2 hours 12. not a quick time but who cares.

it was hard work, my legs had gone coming into the bike and i had started to feel cold but i stuck with it.

for someone who is 41 in 3 weeks i am pleased to have done it.

That's quite an achievement, well done!

I will try and do the 5km challenge one day! My best 5km run is 25:40, I did a 5km cycle last night at 8:57, but I'm crap at rowing frown

I like running and rowing - I might give this a bash

What's the general consensus on order? I'm thinking Run, Row, Cycle.

Any other opinions?

I'd say do your least favourite first! For me, I would try rowing, running, cycle.
