Anyone know anything about private plastic surgeons?
Discussion
Had a recent quote for "some work" and the price was worked out over the phone and a week later i recieved the written quote.
However when I enquired about the price and why it was substantially higher than anticipated and asked weather it could be reviewed I was told no, they had already applied a discount, despite the fact it was not mentioned on the telephone.
Im talking a fair whack of money here. Surely in business there is room for negotiation? These days people expect a deal weather it be a car, house or even simple price matching in stores.
Any experiance?

Sorry don't no that company .I lost 11 stone about 10 years ago and had that done but i went through my doctors to find a good surgeon. I highly recommend you do that with that type of surgery its a big opp. Or i can highly recommend these . http://www.aurora-clinics.co.uk/.
My wife was involved in these pip implants. She had them for medical reasons and the private clinic we used where not very good about it all. When we went to aurora we could not believe how different we where treated. And the surgeon pointed out that things where done wrong in the first place.
Wrong size implants
We where shown a good implant they used then put cheap pips in.
And the company are still making a mess of the ladies that are going back to them to have the pips out and replaced.

Your poor wife. I hope you manage to resolve it all.
The surgeon I saw is listed as one of the top 100 doctors in the UK and is very highly regarded etc. The hospital is renounded for its first class surgeons.
I guess im a little disapointed they cant/wont move on a price. Basically it was suggested I had a full TT with liop for best results. price coming in at £7.2K the standard TT price is £5,750K On reflection he now says I dont have to have the lipo but im worried now im being "upsold"
I cant believe you cant have a "deal" so to speak

To be truthful i paid £4600 10 years ago for the same. Don.t think that a bad price what they are quoting. Thing is they offer deals if they do they are not a company that i would use.
I would see at least 3 or 4 different companies do your home work on them all and be prepared to travel round the country. Its not always good to go for the the cheapest.
All the companies will give a low price to get you in and see them. Its a business.
Think most businesses do that don't they.

I see what you are saying and have avoided the usual Harley Street Medical, MYA, Transforms etc as i wanted to see a real surgeon not a salesperson.
I wasnt interested in free consults etc and I dont want to travel round the country for a cheap deal. I just dont want to feel like im being held to ransom i spose.
Anyway it may all be rather acedemic as the date i was provisonaly given looks like it has gone after they took a week to write to me! And despite my request for a consult with a surgeon that was available in August he apparently now is not.

Please ask all the questions you can think of and take in the bad points and the good. Although i have not had any real problems the scar is a big one and i do have some problems with the scar being dry and with it being on the waist band of clothes can rub and cause it to bleed and painful sometimes. Good luck what ever you decide.
I was back on my motor bike 7 days after i went back to have my stitches out. It did suppress the doc.Went back to work less than 2 weeks later but i am self employed so i had to. They do say 6 weeks. I didn't have to have any of my ab muscles pulled together that's why recovery was so quick for me. It is the strangest feeling when you come round you think that you will never stand up straight again but it went all ok .
Hi,
The McIndoe hospital is excellent and some of the best plastic surgeons work there. All are on the GMC specialist register as Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic surgeons, unlike the highstreet 'clinics'.
To be a fully qualified plastic surgeon takes a minimum of 10yrs after medical school, exams have to be passed and higher degrees taken. The high street 'clinics' tend to use poorly trained general surgeons who do not appear on the GMC register. The high st 'clinics' care only about profit (see PIP debacle with HMC).
A privately practicing consultant plastic surgeon will typically charge more than on the high street because they are better trained and better surgeons.
PM me if you have any qs
