Do You Give Blood
Discussion
I notice that the Blood Transfusion Sevice are having a bit of a push at the moment to get more people donating so, as this is a website with a huge following I'd thought I'd ask the question, do you give blood, did you once give blood and don't now or is there a reason you can't.
I'd add a poll but I don't know how.

Gave blood once a number of years ago; haven't since.
Reason being the blood service came to the company I worked for then, doesn't come to the company I work for now. Poor excuse really, but I'd do it more if it were more convenient.
Ex-military chap I work with donates platelets as well as blood in his hometown. Quite a bit more involved in that.

I organised the biggest blood drive my US college ever had, and badgered the admin to allow us to use the big, MAHOOOOSIVE welcome center rather than the gym, and they ran out of supplies to get all the blood volunteers were wanting to give, and yet I could not give blood myself, as I was apparently riddled with Mad Cows Disease!
Yes, started a few years ago.
Time before last, I felt woozy and had all the nurses fussing me and was given the 'wedge of shame', so embarrassing. The last time I went, they were watching me closely after the donation, as my wooziness had made it's way onto my notes.
Haven't been able to donate for a while due to a mixture of foreign holidays and now, immunisation jabs. No doubt after going to India in the summer I will be barred for another long stretch. Erk.
Edit - just looked at their website and seen this "We urgently need more O- and B- donors to donate as stocks have fallen."
